I have still not cooled down from yesterday, Chelsea lost yesterday opening up the title race and a Utd win would have closed the gap, City play them on Wednesday and a City win coupled with a Utd win against Chelsea when they play them at home would have made things interesting. That is assuming we somehow upped our game and scoring ability and actually won our games against City, Spurs and Arsenal. European competition has shown that the aforementioned clubs aren't all that but neither are we. The current profligacy our forwards are showing will cost this club big time and it is going to cost us our chances of recruiting the top class replacements' this club needs to be challenging at the top table again.

{Ed025's Note - come on georgie get in the real world, if chelsea dont get another point this season they will still finish above united, the league aspirations for united disappeared in october and there is a slim outside chance that fourth could be up for grabs mate..just say no to drugs.. :)

Agree with ed here. We haven't been in the title race for months. Chelsea results have no consequence for us now. Unless it's against top 4 rivals, although being realistic I think top 4 is gone too.

2.) 02 Apr 2017 13:36:18
Just say Chelsea do collapse which I highly doubt they will, Chelsea were still excellent in defeat yesterday. Should of scored a bag full. The team you would least expect to put a run together out of the top 6 is us, 6 matches we have won at home all season, that is abysmal, spurs would be the most likely to capitalise on a blip in my opinion, they are very consistent at the moment and really good side.

3.) 02 Apr 2017 14:59:49
Georgie worst post of the year 😂.

4.) 02 Apr 2017 15:17:01
Wouldn't be surprised to see Spurs catch Chelsea.

5.) 03 Apr 2017 09:47:35
Don't be surprised to see Spurs capitulate around this time of the season. They always do. Poch's side have that weakness in them. Or call it that they might just run out of steam again this season just like they did last year.

6.) 03 Apr 2017 12:46:07
Dont see how 5th would stop us signing players. Hasn't so far.

The season can now be viewed as one of success, outside of Chelsea no other team has had a better season trophy wise. Looking at some of the players Ajax had at their disposal and seeing how confident they were with the ball you could be forgiven for thinking that you wouldn't have to spend a kings ransom to acquire a couple of players that are going to mature into great players.

My thoughts at this time are with the friends and families of all affected by this mindless act.

22 May 2017 20:32:58
Jose has got one of the biggest jobs in world football, don't know what all the rubbish was about yesterday but the fans deserve a little better than " I'm in a final on Wednesday " Stewart Gardner must have felt like a right plank when José cut him short. The sport nothing without it's fans, José wants a talking to.

1.) 22 May 2017 21:47:07
I thought it was a masterclass on dishing out a rebuff to the inane questions asked at press conferences. Discharge the obligation to turn up and leave because the one or two present didn't have any questions!
Brilliant! Even SAF didn't think of that one during his long feud with the BBC.

2.) 22 May 2017 22:04:16
Classic mind games by Mourinho, take the pressure of the players and put it on himself.

3.) 23 May 2017 00:22:09
why should we celerbrate 6 in the league celerbrate next seasn when we are champions.

{Ed007's Note - (clap) That's mors like it! Get the pyro out!!}

21 May 2017 10:33:38
Here's looking forward to a positive display from whatever team José puts out this afternoon and hoping for a display worthy of winning the Europa league come Wednesday night. Is it me or is everyone looking forward to the end of this season so the work can start on next seasons campaign?

1.) 21 May 2017 12:17:13
I am not the most confident about the results but I hope to see the younger ones display what future Man Utd has to offer. Kudos to Nicky.

2.) 21 May 2017 14:30:07
Apart from the final, I can't wait to see the end of this season. It's been a downhill slope since the new year. Though, I'll be looking forward to seeing how the debutants get on today. This is part of what United should be about.

18 May 2017 08:08:28
Watching the match last night I can't help but feel that Jose's tiredness lectures have got into the heads of the players. Last night just underlined how many of the squad are not good enough to wear the shirt. I really hope whatever team Jose sends out next Wednesday they put on a display rather than the insipid displays they have managed over the last four or five matches.

1.) 18 May 2017 08:33:52
This is a major problem for me, even more noticeably taking the foot off the gas over the past few weeks is going to lead to us having problems in going up 3-4 gears for the final. We have struggled for fitness all season, clearly something is wrong with the training and recuperation methods. Players rested for too long from competitive games and not sure who will be playing, little familiarity. Been playing ultra defensive for over a month now as well.

Would anybody put their faith in our starting 11 being 100% ready for the final, I imagine they will be really off the pace? Even if they are totally fit, it's hard to shake the lackluster, ultra negative football approach we have adopted. I fear we are approaching the game in completely the wrong way, no need to reply with "Jose clearly knows more than you Beast, blah blah blah", I think he has been found wanting too many times to simply say this isn't an issue.

2.) 18 May 2017 08:59:02
I think April took its toll on the players and they haven't really recovered since. i'm not expecting exhibition football next week more of a tight nervous game where a mistake might settle it. Lingard always seems to turn up for these games and I have got money on him getting the winner.

3.) 18 May 2017 09:25:32
If you think what Jose has been saying to the players has had a huge affect then that's good news as he will be drilling into them the importance of the Ajax game, he is playing these last few games perfectly in my opinion, getting lads game time without tiring them out and getting them perfectly prepared for our biggest game in years.

Jose clearly knows more than you Beast. Sorry, couldn't resist.

4.) 18 May 2017 09:53:48
The last couple of games are being treated as no bigger than pre season friendlies.

5.) 18 May 2017 10:48:34
Exactly Ken - that lax attitude/ long lay off takes competitive games to shirk off, cup final or not. I will be amazed if we start the final quicker/ better than Ajax, it will take us time to get going, if we get going at all.

6.) 18 May 2017 11:44:40
I agree beast its not as easy as swithching on a light switch but i am 100% sure that jose wikl have them well prepared and in the right frsme of mind.
He knows how to win finals. Admittedly he has never gone into a final with so many poor players in his side but I think we have enough to get through and will have the right motivation.
With any luck it will be the last we see of some of this bunch. Most of them have been around 3or 4 years and are perennial failures simply not good enough to compete for a league championship.

7.) 18 May 2017 12:42:18
Any surprise Beast doesn't agree with what the manager is doing? Fairly sure if we were going full throttle in these games Beast would be saying we should be resting players. That's my issue here Beast, you come across as constantly having the opposite opinion and it gets tiresome.

8.) 18 May 2017 13:00:28
How about this for tiresome.

Same points as last season, just 3 goals more, 1 place less - progress!

9.) 18 May 2017 13:42:18
obody has said we have had a good season in the league, we have missed too many chances in home games that we dominated and that has cost us massively. But we have a chance to put that right on Wednesday and hopefully the lads will, now bloody get behind them.

From what I can gather regarding Ronaldo there was pressure from within the dressing room for SAF to have a word. Sir Alex duly obliged and the rest is history. Ronaldo wanted to be the best player in the World and put hours on the training pitch honing his craft, Pogba spends hours having his hair done, he needs to knuckle down and get his act together.

I noticed that too ED004, Ashley Young did have some lumps chipped away and seemed to be manhandled and barged in the back quite a few times and got no decisions. The first time he offered the same physicality the referee blew up, very frustrating for a player.

If that's the case then let him go there, don't want a player at this club that other than signing for Pep could view City as a better destination than signing for Utd. Sorry any City fans that read this but other than the fact that City won the title more recently, Utd blow City out of the water in every other aspect.

I'm sometimes slow on the uptake, maybe in future a simple lol or an appropriate emoticon after one of your posts might give an old duffer like me a nod in the right direction 😎.

Utd weren't snubbed, stop reading and believing some of the BS that rival fans post on forums and online newspapers. Rodriguez is an ok player that enjoyed an ok World cup sometime ago and has since proved to be the type of player that if your club misses out on his services then you should lose no sleep over it, CTFO.

{Ed025's Note - im with you georgie..

I had a heart attack a year ago and ended up having quadruple bypass surgery from which I am not fully recovered from yet (some complications) but you are certainly right AJH you have plenty to look forward to and I'm sure you'll be back in a job soon. Having the love and support of a family is more important than having a wage at the end of the week but having both is a bonus. Trust me, we all take having good health for granted that is until it is snatched away and only then do we realise just how important it is.
