Now we’re definitley through ;) I’ve come to say well done on getting through fellas goodluck for the draw! As much as we hate your lot at anfield (and I’m sure the feelings mutual) it’s great to see English teams doing well again! Goodluck.

JBLP, its good for the epl with their riches the clubs are attracting the best coaches and some of the best players are starting to come too.
It would be good to see someone break the Spanish stranglehold on the trophy for the last 4 years. Of course for me its anyone before Liverpool. I suppose Basle, Seville and Porto will be the teams that spurs city liverpool and ourselves will be hoping to draw obviously madrid bayern and juve are best avoided for now and shaktar would be an unwanted trip.
I have a feeling we will get drawn against bayern for some reason.

I formally apologise for the comment so on your awful defender being even worse than lovren. They're on par 😂 Pair them up and give them to city my days defending appears to be a lost art now.

Fully agree with you about the defending. Is there any world class defenders in the league.
The art of defending is gone,
They want the central defender now to be able to play, pass the ball out of defence, for me defend put your head on it, take man, ball the whole lot, clear your lines.

JBLP, don't forget Lindelof has just arrived, hopefully he is having the Vidic wobble and will settle down. Lovren on the other hand has no excuse sadly.

3.) 22 Oct 2017 20:49:39
Just arrived or not, Tony, surely he knows you're meant to head the ball, rather than duck out at the last minute.

Fair point Stevie, I''m clutching at straws here.

I think it's a case of some players not realising just how strong and competitive the English league is even down to the bottom clubs. Also coming to one of the biggest teams in the world surprises even hardened pros like RVP was when he came from Benfica. Lindelof is highly rated by many in football and Jose knows what a good defender is so I think we should cut the lad some slack back him and hopefully he will settle down and gain in confidence and if he proves to be half as good as Vidic he will be pretty good.

I know, Tony. For what it's worth, I like what I saw of him at Benfica, and hope he'll still come good. You don't suddenly become a bad player overnight. I just think nerves and confidence are affecting him badly just now.

I think we set up knowing you'd be defensive and very good in the air so klopp didn't want to be caught by a corner last minute, we had a load of chances we just couldn't finish, the game was played in your half. An open game would have suited us better and with your recent form compared to ours, we could have been there for the taking. You actually trying to hammer us, as I believed you were capable, would have meant are more open game which would have suited us too, so we could have had a big scoring game, instead Jose sat 11 men in his own half. You were more than capable fo getting a win but didn't even try. For the neutrals out there an early Liverpool goal would have made the game better to watch because Jose would have had to come out of his own half. If I were a United fan I would have been disappointed with the game because it was a feable attempt by united but you got a point after all which any other time would seem a good point.

Evidence that sometimes referees want to make it all about themselves. even after all of these years he’s wanting the glory, we joke about Fergie and refs but this is such stupidity from a ‘professional’.

I think it was a clear red and you got away with the lukaku incident by we got away with mignolet, I just want consistency that’s the joke with the FA no consistency it gives fans a chance to feel aggrieved if one gets away with it and another doesn’t.

I could see Ozil at United I think he’d be protected from the abuse for lack of defensive work as you play relatively defensively anyway so I think it could be well suited. Would you guys be happy with the signing?

I know people won’t care about my opinion but as an outsider (keeping my bias at toe) city are light years ahead, and not just of you but anybody, there are bigger clubs out there like yourselves but nobody is growing at such a rate, it’s easy when money is no option but it’s not just the players, the youth development, the manager, the image, they’re investing heavily in every aspect of football as a game and business. We can all claim ‘oh we did it properly, money, is wet other excuse’ but the fact is they’re steam rolling games. United will still win trophies but it won’t be like the old days. Power (not just in football) swings in bouts, cycles come and go, in all honesty who can you really see beating city to the title, CL, or FA cup if they take that serious? Not many teams are blessed with 40/ 50 million pound benchwarmers.
