Hi Ed, do United hold any interest in hirving lozano? He's been linked recently and would offer a potential solution to our right side.

{Ed002's Note - Lozano is a LW and would perhaps be a Sanchez replacement.}

1.) 09 Apr 2019 21:20:47
We could only accommodate another left sided player if we let Sánchez and Lukaku go which pushes Martial towards the middle.

2.) 09 Apr 2019 22:04:29
So Sanchez could be moving. Best for all concerned I think. Lozano fits the bill for me young absolutely rapid and knows where the goal is.

3.) 09 Apr 2019 22:19:15
From what I have seen of Lozano, he looks like he has the right mentality. He is a fighter, not one to go and sulk when things don't go his way.

4.) 09 Apr 2019 22:32:26
Thanks ed, think we're overloaded on that side of the attack already.

5.) 09 Apr 2019 23:16:48
I can see Lukaku go either this summer or next summer the latest.

6.) 10 Apr 2019 00:32:48
Would love to sign Lozano. He was great at the World Cup and has carried that form on this season. He’s absolutely rapid too. I think we may see martial and rashford pushed centrally which is where they both look more comfortable. Lukaku seems like he may be on his way. Interesting summer ahead.

7.) 10 Apr 2019 03:29:22
redarmy he plays as much on the right as he does on the left.

8.) 10 Apr 2019 06:22:55
Park. Lukaku must be kept, we cannot afford to make too many changes in one window.
We never know if a new player can settle in immediately.

25 May 2015 19:28:35
Otamendi's agent has come out and said that the player wishes to leave Valencia and will do everything in his power to make it happen! Any eds have any news on this? Our any other teams interested? Thanks

1.) 26 May 2015 11:59:54
Wouldn't mind him but not for the 36million or however much has been quoted numerous times.

{Ed004's Note - Would prefer Hummels or Laporte}

2.) 26 May 2015 12:13:49
Definitely agree with you there.

3.) 26 May 2015 13:51:24
If we get any of the three i'll be happy, 004.

{Ed004's Note - Same tbh}

4.) 26 May 2015 14:37:11
I am greedy and would like Otamendi and Laporte.
I would then like to see a mix of those two and smalling and Rojo being rotated.

I would send Jones out on loan to a team where if he can stay fit he can play regularly. That way we can see if he can improve with games. I am not sure we can give him the game time he needs to establish himself if we want to challenge for the title.

5.) 26 May 2015 14:53:27
As much as Smalling and Jones haven't done that bad this season. they look so frightened on the ball and panicky. I also think we could of had a better start to the season if we didn't start with a back 3 for like 10 games or so.

6.) 26 May 2015 17:25:46
Otamendi and Laporte would be fantastic! Kurzawa left and Darmian right, back four sorted!

14 May 2015 12:34:01
Bernard mensah has been quoted saying we're in negotiations for him. Although he wouldn't be first 11 material, we do need more numbers in CM with more games next season.

07 Aug 2014 17:36:47
Ajax youth coach Richard Witschge quoted as saying Daley Blind is training alone and he is expecting him to be leaving imminently.

1.) 07 Aug 2014 20:55:00
Hope we get him. Will be a solid cover for several positions.

2.) 08 Aug 2014 08:08:54
We seem now to be linked with every player in the world. Personally paying 60 million for Di Maria is madness! We should get behind tgevlikes of lingaard, the keanes, wilson and the other young players or we will have a group of pogbas!

Don't think we can learn too much from that game as it was Dortmunds 5th friendly and only our 2nd. The difference in fitness really showed. Two positives I seen were that Luke shaw looks really sharp, like a new signing at full back. And Bailly looks impressive, such a physical presence and plenty of pace too.

1.) 22 Jul 2016 15:31:24
Redarmy I don't think the number of games is relevant. Fair enough it was a friendly but I'd like to think we would have showed more than we did. As for Bailly did we watch the same game?

2.) 22 Jul 2016 15:36:57
Yes, better to focus on the positives, given the difference in fitness levels, esp. with that humidity over there, the players look drenched!
Great to see Shaw back, he will only get sharper game by game now. Bailly impressed as well, quick, physical, and comfortable with the ball. I also saw a lot of good things from Herrera, he gets around the pitch and can link up different players from back to front and switch the play. He could look like a new player under JM.

3.) 22 Jul 2016 15:45:30
Jmb u are the only one who thinks bailly had a mare my friend.

4.) 22 Jul 2016 15:59:22
Didnt see the match but watched the updates online.

its a 50/ 50 mix for bailly on here. some say impressive and others awful.

how can opinion be that split?

5.) 22 Jul 2016 16:09:25
I only see one guy saying Bailly was poor.

How can people say fitness and preparation is not a factor in the conditions being played? Of course it is a factor. Match sharpness is key at the top level IMO.

It is a pity the manager doesn't have the whole squad available. A lot of the lads on show won't be here for much longer IMO.

6.) 22 Jul 2016 16:27:02
Of course the no of games played is relevant to the performance of both sides maze that's a stupid thing to say.

7.) 22 Jul 2016 16:50:31
I think there's one vital thing we all need to remember here. Weren't we playing really well in pre season under LVG? I'll just leave that there.

8.) 22 Jul 2016 17:09:21
Exactly, Red.

9.) 22 Jul 2016 17:12:49
Nice to see you back maze your positivity is always a breath of fresh air 😴😴.

10.) 22 Jul 2016 17:29:30
I will overcome his negative vibes with my positive ones, deano, mate.

11.) 22 Jul 2016 17:49:34
Maze . U seem to be even more deluded since your "banning I mean break". Bailly will have better games but poor he wasn't. There's always one😆😆.

12.) 22 Jul 2016 18:07:14
Did not see the game but honestly are we going to start criticising things based on a meaningless game with quite few of our key players not even lacing it up. if i remember correctly we were undefeated during LVG pre season and even beat Barcelona but that translated to zilch in terms of domestic or european success.

These games are all about getting 90 minutes of competitive football and players to get a run out and the manager slowly making decisions on who is in and who is not.

13.) 22 Jul 2016 18:26:28
We didn't play well pre-season under LVG, it's a fallacy. We did blitz LA Galaxy once, but I watched every friendly over the past 2 seasons and we got the results (for the same reason Dortmund got a result today), we didn't actually play that well.

Friendlies are for four key footballing reasons:

1 - Fitness
2 - Working on patterns/ relationships
3 - Trying different tactics
4 - shop window/ identifying who needs to go

the 5th reason is MONEY MONEY MONEY, but who cares.

14.) 22 Jul 2016 19:26:27
How can anyone get a true read from that game? . Wow.

16 Jul 2016 21:03:31
Long time reader, I don't post often. Not footy related, but how informative are the adds on this page? On one page I can click on links to find the steroid that will turn me into a beast, find out how to become a millionaire overnight, and apparently there's gorgeous cougars that love younger men in my local town! And even when I'm in other towns they're in them as well! What more could you want!

1.) 16 Jul 2016 21:21:50
That cougar one has a pic of this actress who played a character called claire in both hollyoaks and eastenders so it blatantly some scam thing.

2.) 16 Jul 2016 21:50:39
Haha Redarmy. Its like a dream come true, why visit other sites when you can have it all here mate.

3.) 16 Jul 2016 22:01:18

Surely not, seems 100% legit to me mate.

4.) 16 Jul 2016 22:27:01
I'm sure the ads are targeted based on your historic internet usage you big filthy pervs!

5.) 16 Jul 2016 22:57:47
LOL. i am worried my adds are different.

6.) 16 Jul 2016 23:32:39
I can't believe u admitted to watching hollyoaks.

31 Mar 2016 11:31:14
This bashing of Memphis is ridiculous! There aren't many players his age showing as many glimpses of genius. Yes granted he needs to get off social media, knuckle down and be more consistent but let's give him a year before we write him off already! Worth mentioning he had a brilliant game against Arsenal a few weeks back, against one of the sharpest rbs in the league bellerin, who he had the beating of all game! He was still dropped the following game. It's far too early to judge, how did mahrez play last season?

1.) 31 Mar 2016 13:32:56
Genius LOL are you serious. please post a few clips of it i am really keen to see the genius part. Ridiculous statement.

2.) 31 Mar 2016 15:04:10
Some people can't give credit when it's due. Of course Memphis has been inconsistent and had some very poor games, but only a blind man riding a horse from a distance could say he hasn't had his moments or shown glimpses of what he's capable of.

3.) 31 Mar 2016 18:49:40
Red, what are you saying, a genius, there has been many a good player top players at United, gigs, scholes, just to name a couple, the last genius I saw at old Trafford was Cantona, now you could mention his name with genius.

4.) 31 Mar 2016 19:58:52
To be fair, mate, he said, 'glimpses' of genius.

5.) 31 Mar 2016 21:33:40
I know but the mention of the word genius.

6.) 31 Mar 2016 22:40:19
What post did you read? Lol.

7.) 01 Apr 2016 00:54:08

Did you not watch united when Ronaldo played? If he wasn't a genius then I've no idea what is. Cantona was as well, but Ronaldo could have been man of the match every time he stepped on the pitch.

8.) 01 Apr 2016 12:56:36
You've all forgotten the legend that was buttner. Mom every game.

9.) 01 Apr 2016 13:17:22
Buttner was and is still one of my favourite players, just because of the way he take peno's.

14 Aug 2015 18:52:36
Must say its a real boost to see januzaj starting alongside mata and memphis. Finally a bit of pace the teams been crying out for. Hopefully he takes his chance and we see some good attacking football!

20 Jun 2015 16:54:17
Might get slated for this, but seen today that both city and Chelsea are tracking Alex song and couldn't help but think why aren't we in for him? I'm not saying he'd be the answer to all our midfield problems but he'd add quality and depth to our squad. He's only 27 even though it seems like he's been around forever and barca supposedly only looking 5mil for him.

1.) 20 Jun 2015 17:27:28
Chelsea are signing him to replace mikel which tells you all you need to know about the quality of him.

2.) 20 Jun 2015 17:26:30
Who says they are? The internet fabricazzi (new word coined right here and now) could interpret my grandmother's eructations as a corroborative sign we're in for someone.

In any event, if he ain't good enough for Barcelona he certainly ain't good enough for us!

3.) 20 Jun 2015 18:14:12
We should have signed him 2 seasons ago, he has a great connection/understanding with RVP and he would have been like two signings. Now it wouldn't be half as valuable as RVP is finished for me.

4.) 20 Jun 2015 18:17:43
Wayne rooney wouldn't be good enough for Barcelona and he's arguably our best player, also seem to remember a young man named yaya toure who was deemed not good enough for them, don't know what ever happened to him :-/

5.) 20 Jun 2015 18:39:55
I think its because he's home grown that's probably the only reason why.

6.) 20 Jun 2015 20:12:59
Didn't any of you think Song performed well at West Ham? Being a Chelsea fan I'd be pleased with him as midfield depth. I however doubt the validity of the report.

7.) 20 Jun 2015 20:49:53
Yes, Yaya Toure has been great at City within the EPL, but what have they won in Europe? And in comparison, since he left, what have Barcelona won?

I was being a little facetious in my response. Song is a good player but to my mind his opportunity to really excel has been and gone. His first half if the season at West Ham was excellent but it tailed off somewhat, and as Beast notes he did have a good understanding with RVP but that isn't going to happen again. At this point in time his future at any big club is as a squad player.

8.) 20 Jun 2015 22:30:06

He's ok as a Dm but a bit too lazy at the top level. He's ok at b2b but not that creative and doesn't stand out, which is why Arsenal were happy to see him go. A decent squad player perhaps but we should be looking to improve our starting 11 rather than finding decent squad players.

Apparently he counts as homegrown which is why Chelsea/city will see him as a useful signing.

9.) 20 Jun 2015 22:36:19
Jackson - Yes he did well for West Ham and dominated some games, but he would only really be a squad player for any team looking to do well in Europe or win the league. He is too much of a liability now for an LVG possession based game

I think people underestimate how many chances he created for RVP when at Arsenal, we would have seen a much better RVP and a more creative midfield had we signed him 2 years ago. Now RVP is virtually finished he would be another squad player and Utd need world class starters desperately, we are full of 6/7 out of 10's - we need our Matic or Fabregas (first half of the season).

10.) 20 Jun 2015 22:54:33
Beast, yes they did do well together for a while but I'm not sure I agree that 2 players can be made for each other in some magical sense. It's probably a case of things clicking at a particular moment or just good coaching, surely a player better than Song would be more effective given the right coaching and system. Just because they had a good season or two together doesn't make it some kind of magical relationship that cannot be replicated with other player(s).

11.) 21 Jun 2015 08:26:10
I agree that a top club shouldn't bring him in to be an instant starter. But as midfield depth I felt he is an interesting player. He has experience at the top level, he probably won't be expensive and is still only 27 I think. So as back up, that's pretty good IMO.

{Ed001's Note - he wants something like 100k a week, he doesn't track back and thinks he is some kind of superplayer. I would suggest steering well clear.}

12.) 21 Jun 2015 15:29:41
Really, Ed?? 100k is a little over the top. Guys like Matic and Oscar don't even get that. I still think playing wise he'd be a good addition but those wages are indeed high.

What about Jonny Evans? He has a 3 million release clause now that west brom went down. Can't believe clubs aren't fighting the bit out at that money. Big improvement on what we have and in today's market its basically a free transfer.

I want to be excited about this but I'm actually a bit underwhelmed. He would be an improvement on what we have, but is he United standard? He's only scored something like 3 goals all season and Southampton are going to want 30+ million for him! Bayern signed Douglas Costa for less, that's the standard of player we need to be chasing!

Good post. For all Oles' talk of playing attacking football, the style hasn't changed. It's basically rebooted mourinho football, the only difference being, we've got more men forward in support of the counter attacks, full backs playing higher etc. If the two games against wolves taught us anything, it's that if a team surrenders possession to us, we're toothless. Nobody can find find the killer pass, there's no invention, nobody actually brave enough on the ball.

Who's responsible? I think it comes down to a lack of vision from the top. No manager as yet, has come in and said 'right, this is how were going to play now'. If you think back to the beginning of klopp, pochettino and guardiolas' first few months in charge, there was a clear and focused new set of ideas being introduced. Ole has experimented with different systems, my only hope is that with the right pre season and some shrewd signings, his vision might become more clear.

It's a serious concern that the club have allowed his contract to run down so far. He is far from the finished article, but he has the potential to be a superstar. He's the only player we have that gets the crowd up off their seat when he gets the ball. He's arguably the biggest talent our academy has produced since the class of 92, we should be looking to build our future team around him and encourage him to spend the best years of his career with us. For that reason I would class him as irreplaceable.

{Ed002's Note - This whole concept of "building a team around" a player is a little naive, it does not work like that, and certainly not with forwards. The club have not let his contract run down (and they can take up an option he has already agreed to) but rather have not reached an agreement with him just yet. There is no doubt that there is interest from Barcelona but you need to remember he is English, and typically English players are far from portable to other countries, and he is far from being the sharpest piece of mango in the fridge.}

He could be a good player if he ever got his head up. Constantly dribbling directly into traffic, not seeing an easy pass. Was screaming at him to square it to rashford for a tap in when he was through today, he was so lucky the tackle was mistimed and we ended up scoring. Must be so frustrating to play with.
