A quick question for any edds about,
Would it be possible for a club to put a clause in a contract to stop them going to a rival, or even to a PL club for a set period of time. Just thinking maybe this is why we are waiting for a certain special one.
A manager i once had was sacked and as part of his severance deal was that he could not manage another buisness in a 20 mile radius.

1.) 05 Feb 2016 18:54:45
Maybe Mourinho wants to wait till the summer. Pre season to get his ideas across, enough time to assess the squad and a summer window to get his players in.

2.) 05 Feb 2016 19:09:11
Not without the agreement of the particpant.

In the case of your old manager he will have agreed to that clause and as such probably got a larger severance package for doing so.

Under EU law you cannot enforce such a clause on someone without their consent. Its against the restriction of trade laws.

So if such a clause is holding Mourinho back from signing with United then it is only doing so because Mourinho agreed to such a clause as part of his exit from Chelsea.

3.) 05 Feb 2016 21:46:47
We sort of did that with Kenyon. He went on gardening leave for a bit. I think its been done before with managers just not made public.

4.) 05 Feb 2016 22:59:57
Just a mad conspiracy theory that came to me today!

5.) 05 Feb 2016 23:20:04
None compete clauses are very common in business although I have no idea whether they are in football. I suppose with football clubs becoming more and more like businesses it would not surprise me.

6.) 07 Feb 2016 09:22:33
I think Mourinho wants to weigh up his options before taking a new club over, plus all the negative stuff that was coming out about him before he got sacked will of died off by then.

Ed what's the score with valdes? Tell me that lvg is not thinking of keeping him on. Ideal number 4 but no more than that! he's been training with us for a while its concerning me .

{Ed002's Note - Valdes is out of contract, returning from a lengthy lay off from injury and looking for first team football. If Manchester United lose Lindegaard and Valdes can prove his fitness, a short-term contract might suit all given he has been training with the squad. Liverpool had approached the player but Rodgers put his foot in his mouth over any possible deal.}

1.) Thanks ed i just hope de gea stays and signs a new contract i hope we are not looking at valdes just in case!

{Ed002's Note - Valdes will be related to Lindegaard.}

2.) Thank god!!! Cheers again ed

Just spoke to a mate in spain who claims united rep in bilbao regarding muniain! Not sure if he's a prem player? Are any eds aware of this.

1.) 27 Jan 2014 15:09:44
I wish this were true. He is a top top player. 21 reminds me a bit of Davide Silva but quicker. He will only improve and is regarded as one of the best younsters in Spain

2.) He's stagnated somewhat over the past few season. Still a good player with a lot of potential. Could only be a good signing if it's around the £20m mark.

3.) If there is a rep there the they may be discussing Herrera

4.) He is working for Spurs. Boy wanted by Spurs.

Last game of the season tomorrow, iv missed a lot of games 2nd half of the season
But iv decided to go tomorrow, really looking forward to see how the youngsters get on the results not vitally important but would be great for their development and confidence if they get a win. Would be good for them to have a full ground and a loud stretford end.

1.) 20 May 2017 13:49:45
Enjoy, mate. I hope they don't get hammered. Nothing worse for their confidence than making their debut in a right gubbing. I hope they do well and the fans appreciate their efforts.

2.) 20 May 2017 15:34:50
Yes I wasn't going to go but but when I saw who jose was going to give a run out to I fancied it. Plus last game of the season it's a long time till august. Like you say hopefully tomorrow is a special day for the kids.

3.) 20 May 2017 22:15:02
Be nice if the club charged youth team admission prices for the match too.

Anderlecht a good draw happy with that.

1.) 17 Mar 2017 12:21:49
yes, happy with that, could have been a lot worse. First leg away which is often best, and not much travelling .

It is a cliche but doesn't stop it being true that at this stage there are no easy games as Anderlecht are thinking they are a couple of games away from a final too obvioulsy, and they top their league which is a real confidence booster.

Good draw, away goal (s) important as ever.

2.) 17 Mar 2017 12:23:32
It is like we are playing with some sort of cheat activated mode with no difficult draws. Though i would rather face lyon in semis than in finals.

3.) 17 Mar 2017 18:03:52
Anderlecht are a difficult draw in my opinion csm.

Maybe a little dance on Instagram or flashy new haircut from pogs will make us all feel better😂 I went to today game all we needed was one or two players to stand up and take their chances, forget blaming the timewasting, forget anything else, we needed the ball in the net from the ones payed so well.

1.) 04 Mar 2017 21:04:17
Watching Liverpool they just play at a much higher tempo but don't have the quality we have. That being said ibra mata Rooney carrick and pogba are incapable of that mostly down to physical attributes, old slow or with Pogba being a legend in his own mind and that's half the team.

Miki back helps but it's a serious handicap that needs addressing for next year because it's the way the game is going. Poor result result/ effort but the leagues not over yet .

2.) 04 Mar 2017 21:57:33
No not over yet we are in touching distance.

3.) 04 Mar 2017 23:55:44
And maybe that's why we're interested in Greizzman? A front line of Rashford with Martial, Miki and Greizzman doesn't sound to pedestrian does it?

14 Jan 2017 13:16:34
Just watching lille v st Etienne, to be fair they don't look a bad side it's 1-1 at the minute. Should be a good game but I expect us to easily go through.

09 Jan 2017 20:49:37
Wigan at home, should be a easy one 23 rd in the championship. Welcome back warren Joyce.

1.) 10 Jan 2017 09:04:06
Could have been a lot more difficult than that!

Not that i'm looking past Wigan, we all know the FA cup is up for grabs from everyone but i'm glad that we didn't draw one of the current top 6 in this round :-)

I know let's sell all our players sack our manager, come on guys get a grip the seasons not finished yet and some think were fighting relegation not fighting for top four and looking to win a European trophy.

Carefull you don't want to entice the wrath of the less optimistic! Remember we are still 8 points of the top and Liverpool city Chelsea play so good blah blah🤣😈 Jose should have won the champions league by now blah blah.

Beast, I have been thinking the same thing someone like Giroud Aguero Benzema or vardy may be easier to target and would help Rashford and martial.
