Fresh- Evans is not verbal enough and is far too injury prone to be a captain if vidal comes in he is captain material leads by example a robbo and keano all wrapped up in one.

sparky71

1.) I could never envisage a new player coming in and being captain straight away.

{Ed008's Note - RVP will be captain IMO.

2.) I Never said vidal would get it as we all know it's very rare a player captains his new club but he would be the best option for me born winner. I think rooney will be captain above rvp. Rvp is not verbal enough and his head goes down when's things aren't going right, u need a captain who can pick the players up lead by example and get them performing just like the great robbo ( captain marvel )

3.) I totally agree.

4.) 30 Jul 2014 16:11:11
Ed008, do you expect RVP to play enough to be captain? I think Rooney will get the armband purely based on the fact he'll spend less time on the sidelines/resting than RVP, either way it's bound to be one of the two.

{Ed008's Note - I'm just assuming this as RVP was captain under LVG for Holland and the fact he hasn't announced who will be captain till now whilst RVP is away on holiday.

5.) I expect RVP to play more next season, if it's true the training the Everton mob had them doing gave him problems now they've been dismissed he will hopefully play more.

Lvg builds the Dutch side around him and rates him very highly and was having a great first season with roma till his injury so yep he is miles better than what we have in midfield and Liverpool for that matter.

sparky71

1.) He is a real driving force and a warrior. He would be a fan favourite.

24 Jul 2014 22:50:15
Would Carrick get in citys, arsenals or chelski's midfields
??
And we r the biggest club in the world!well let's hope we can sort out our midfield Herrera looks good get vidal or strootman then we will have the midfield we used to have with keano and scholesy and start looking like the biggest club in the world .

sparky71

1.) Not with strootman, he would never get into chelsea, arsenal, liverpool or city that is for sure. Have you actually watched him or is this tabloid fever.

2.) 25 Jul 2014 00:13:35
GCU have you actually watched him? He would walk into Liverpool and Arsenal's midfields, never mind ours.

3.) GCU have you ever watched Strootman? I wanted him last year after the Under 21's when we were linked. He has an engine as good as any, superb and tenacious in the tackle, he is far from slow and loves to burst forward. Ok he looks clumsy at times ala Jones ( can rival Jones at Gourning too ) he's a very good player. If I had to pick a young holding/defensive mid He'd be high on the list ( behind Carvalho ).

However what you or I think is irrelevant, LVG has eulogised over him and said Netherlands should build their team around him. Which kinda hints he rates him.

4.) He was awful in the u21s

5.) On Strootman I watched him a while ago when we were supposedly interested and commented then. His total lack of any pace is a concern for me. I think the speculation is because LvG intended to include him in the Dutch midfield who were not blessed with a large selection of good midfield players. The press are taking a leap that LvG then thinks he is right for us when the manager has a wider choice than he had for Holland. The Italian league is slower and more suited to strolling Strootman so he wouldn't excite me. Vidal seems a better fit but I wouldn't rule out Khedira alongside Herrera.

6.) 25 Jul 2014 09:21:52
Have people seen LVG's thing on youtube before the World Cup? He wasn't just 'going to select' Strootman, he would have been his main man, his 'pivot' in the midfield, not because they lack other good players, but because he is everything LVG wants from that kind of player. So it really would not surprise me if we signed him.

7.) GDS, well if you want a quick beer in the Peacock or Noggin one night give me a shout

8.) 25 Jul 2014 10:53:08
Sure what would LVG know about Strootman compared to to all those who've studied him extensively on YouTube?

9.) Yes Jred he was poor in the under 21's finals, great in the qualifying rounds, I posted at the time he must have been injured.

10.) MPez

I bet you have never watched him play for 90 minutes. He is a worse version of ramirez( ramirez has pace and can shoot).

He is nowhere near good to be playing for a top pl team because he will get humped by the pace and physicality of the pl. Players will run past him with such ease which is our current issue.

He went to Roma for 11 million mate, there is a god damn good reason not one of the elite clubs looked at him.

All this is speculation because of LVG relationship with him as the dutch coach.

GDS

I wil bet he never wears the red shirt. Some of these rumours are just pure nonsense and they start from a nothing source and just keep being passed around.

He was dutch national coach as recent as 3 weeks ago calling on a player to see how his rehab is going is just a decent human thing and not about us buying a player.

On that basis giggsy watched my sons football game with me so I guess united must be looking to sign him up at the academy. I am still waiting for the call and the contract :)

we lol enticed a world class manager but beleive me no world class players let me eat my words but u are all dreamers been in the k stand for the last 20 years so correct me if i'm wrong carrick will still be playing week in week out nani on left toni on right and maybe 5th if we are lucky haven't renewed my season ticket and I won't till the yanks go

sparky71

1.) 18 Jul 2014 02:14:56
What's world class Sparky? i'm not sticking up for the Glaziers but I reckon some people ain't happy unless they have something to moan about. What about Mata? An 18 year old left back who is already one of the best around and Herrera who was one of the best midfielders in La Liga last season and who many reckon will be the lynchpin for the spanish team in the near future. that's 100 million spent in the last 6 months.

2.) Transfer window isn't even shut yet why the doom and gloom. We have already spent fairly big and are in the market for more. Can only be a good thing have faith in van gaal and get behind your team

3.) Carrick won't play week in week out for a while ;-)

An eleven of DDG, Rafael, Shaw, Evans, Jones, Carrick, Herrara, Mata, Rooney, Adnan, RVP would be an improvement on last season but still work to do in key areas imo.

4.) 18 Jul 2014 10:13:29
also carrick is out for 3 months injured and will take a while to recover due to his age so he won't be playing week in week out will her

5.) I can understand your feelings Sparkey. For years the fans have been treated like persons but the suits at OT. Always an excuse for not buying top players, buying for the future etc etc. however, I feel a little more confident now that times are changing. No CL and 7th in the league has frightened the owners into action and perhaps now, we are going to see investment where it matters, in the team! United have been attracting sponsors from all over the world and the money is flooding in, but no CL has damaged the club. Sit tight mate, I now feel confident that in a very short time, United will be very watchable again, new, class players will arrive and United will be winning trophies again. Believe!

6.) 18 Jul 2014 10:56:06
So if being in the k stand makes your opinion more valid than others if you have not renewed your season ticket does that mean your opinion isn't valid anymore?

It is a good positive time for the club, I imagine the club are better off without you (season tickets sold out)

7.) To fess
Have faith and we will be again in 7th.
Last year we all said the same.
In football world you don't spend money, you ain't winning nothing.
Unless only if your Alex ferguson.
Managers like pep, mourinho are so successful is because they had money.
You don't spend money, ask
Wenger what in the last 8 or 9yrs.

8.) I have to admit I am worried as well. If we don't bring in another great midfielder and central defender we are going to fall short of the top 4 again this year.
I know that that the transfer window hasn't closed but if anyone on here thinks that we will get ingto the top 4 this season with the squad we have now is deluded.
Chelsea have brought in 4 superb players and in my eyes will walk away with the title next season. All they were missing was a forward that will score 20+ goals and they now have one.
Arsenal have invested in Sanchez and it looks like they are looking at Khedeira or another midfielder.
City are miles ahead of us anyway at the moment and i'm sure that they will start spending pretty soon and Liverpool are now investing the Suarez money.
We HAVE and I stress the word HAVE to buy a top class midfielder and a centre half for the season ahead. It's a must!

9.) There WILL be transfers happening for us but after last year there is no way Utd are gona be so open about it. I can understand why people are getting twitchy after LVG saying he is going to take his time but after years of Sir Alex surely people must have realised by now managers don't tell the truth in their press confrences about things like transfers. I fully expect work going on behind the scenes for Vidal Hummels reus dimaria players of that calibre.

10.) 18 Jul 2014 13:07:28
Simmo,

I agree, and if me and you know we HAVE to buy a top class midfielder and top class defender I think maybe just maybe LVG has worked that out as well?!

11.) Gds

No it doesn't give me the right but I'm a realist not a dreamerand u my friend if u think we can compete with city chelski and the goons next season u r sadly wrong not unless we get in the players we have been severely lacking in midfield since keano and Scholes y

I think giggs needs to manage a smaller club before we ever consider him for the utd job.

If di maria leaves and that's a big if then bale would be the only one. Gaitan is not good enough imo

Mata needs to play in the number 10 role and felliani should never start a game especially as a striker.

With all the money he has spent I could leave the club better than I found it.
