I replied in a similar manor down below, first post in a while.

Under Fergie we had probably 3 world beating sides, 8 best league side and some very unlucky sides.

The best games I remmeber we played, we came from behind, playing the worst of the two sides.

We certainly didn't buy galaticos. We made them.

WERE NEVER ENVIOUS.

The great man retired, there was one before him hopefully more after him.

But let's not be jelous of others.

On Rooney, if you hate him cause he reportedly wanted to leave. Keane, Giggs, Rio, Robbo all did the same in my lifetime let's not be judgemental. He gives all, is it his fault he hasn't been supported???

Rooney just isn't good enough anymore. Take away all the history, the brand etc, just judge him on performances over the past 18 months, no excuses, just judge him as a player playing football and he simply is a passenger most games and a hindrance in some. Never has he been the positive difference in recent memory. Yet his pay, his stature and treatment indicates he is a key player. He really isn't, that is why I have an issue.

I don't like what he did with the contract, but we aren't privy to all the ins and outs of the politics. All we know for sure is how players perform and he has been sub par for far too long.

2.) 16 Aug 2015 21:14:51
Completely, utterly and totally 100% agree with beast.

Now I need a lie down.

3.) 16 Aug 2015 21:31:34
He may not be but he's the best option we have.

My mates cars better than mine his Mrs is younger than its irrelevant because I'm a united fan he's a city fan.

I win.

4.) 16 Aug 2015 21:32:04
You're wrong beast
Its been more than 18 months

5.) 16 Aug 2015 21:39:22
I agree 100% with you there beast.

6.) 17 Aug 2015 07:50:08
Agree 1000 percent beast. I've a headache now

Cant wait for beast's dripping about Rooney today.

He will break all United and Englands records.

Poor tho hey?

Doesnt say a lot for those who played before him!!

P.S I hear Aguero's good if you want to move across the road!!

Rooneys stats P**ses on Aguero since he came to to England.

treble1999

1.) I say it again. I don't know where all this Rooney knocking is coming from. He's a fantastic player. One of the best and we're very lucky to have him.

2.) 22 Nov 2014 22:38:31
I thought Rooney was excellent today, he is the heart of our team, he is everything arsenal don't have, desire passion whatever you want to call it he is the example for the others. I agree with people who say that he hasn't reached his full potential, but the question is this would you rather he plays for Manchester United or against Manchester United? I don't care how much he gets paid, that he told the club we needed better players which actually might be true. When he plays like today he is world class because he played for the team. Its just my opinion not based on facts just the game I watch. Who would you rather have Welbeck who in my opinion disappeared after half an hour, or the man that scored the winner? With his only chance. I know who I would rather have.

Just like to wish us all a happy 26th May.

many should remember this date.

it was the day Ole and Teddy made our dreams realities.

15 years since the Treble. The promised land.

'Full steam ahead Barcelona'

treble1999

1.) 15 years! Wow can remember it like it was just last week

2.) What a fantastic day and night, I was up in the top tier and lost my voice for 2 days lol

3.) I was behind the goal that our goals were scored at and it was one of the greatest football nights of my life probably the only thing that came near it was the Barcelona game in 84. Where has 15 years gone?

4.) Same here Redman just to left of the goal as looking from the stands right behind where the ball hit the top corner. Was also in stretford end in 84 as we mentioned in the past. Remember in 99 it would have been Sir Matts birthday as it would have been today . It was my birthday on 22 same day as George Best . In 99 is was same day we beat Newcastle at wembley was at that too and a fantastic night. Unfortunately on my 40th we got beat at Cardiff off arsenal

5.) Me and my mate starred in our own remake of Planes Trains and Automobiles for that one.

Drive to Dublin, flight to Paris, train to Montpellier, overnight stay there, and a bus over the border to Barcelona the next morning. All along the route, in every village we stopped in, there was at least one other intrepid soul in a United shirt.

Mass kickabout in the sun in Las Ramblas. Walking to the ground and meeting John Virgo - he had Virgo on the back of his shirt, just in case no-one knew who he was.

No tickets, couldn't afford the tout's prices, walking back from the ground to the bar, thinking 'well at least we're here, heard Bayern score, then met two Barca fans walking down the concourse to the ground.

Asked if they had tickets, they did. Barca fans got so many allocated to them. Quick negotiation, and tickets bought for 80 euros for the pair (up to 3000 before the game).

Quick sprint into the ground. 80 minutes spent wondering why we bothered. Then 5 minutes of absolute ecstacy. Told off by suited European types for standing up and cheering when Teddy scored. Still standing up and cheering when Ole got the winner. Cue further admonishments for our behaviour. Celebrating our team scoring by cheering and singing, imagine! Much two-fingered gesturing in return.

Every Utd fan in this supposed neutral area meeting on the steps and hugging and kissing - my favourite part :)

Post-match drinks with big, hairy Bavarians, who took it all remarkably well - I dread to think how it would have been if the circumstances were reversed.

Drinking with United legends down by the marina til sunrise, then two hours kip on a bench in Las Ramblas.

Back the same way we came, nursing very sore heads. Stopped off in Paris for the night, karaoeke bar til the early hours, singing United songs, and after that, un petit liaison :)

Slept in, missed our early morning flight to Dublin, forked out another 100 euros for the next one.

Got home, and listened to all my mates talking about the great atmosphere in the pub after the game, and wishing, for a second, that I'd been with them. Then catching myself on, slapping myself hard, and realising I'd just bore witness, in person, to the greatest night of my life.

6.) Pancho

When Solskjaers goal hit the net I was almost directly in line with its trajectory so we may not have been far from the same spot.
I remember Las Ramblas the night before was full of very confident Bayern fans who were nowhere to be seen the next night despite arranging to meet.
I remember the clock stopping at the end of normal time and a woman stood in front of me crying and after the season we had I said it's not over yet. I remember the over officious gate staff breaking my flag pole into bits and handing it back, then they ran out of food at half time. Funny but there were far more people in than there were seats, the aisles were full and it was chaos. I had to walk the miles back to the centre after the game and stayed up in Las Ramblas until light before going back to my hotel full of beer nodding off and nearly missing my flight back. Still I made it and the parade through Manchester the next day.

7.) It was the best season to witness.

Lost the first game in the prem.

Had to qualify for champs league.

The 2, 3-3 group games against Barca.

That goal by Giggsy.

I make my kids watch the season at least once a year. I watch it several. Sad but I can't help it!

8.) Yep Redman I was right behind the flight of the ball. I went flying down about 6 rows of seats on my back along with a couple of mates when it went in . All the seats snapped. We to walked back into town after the game for some big celebrations . We missed the first couple of minutes of the game because of the cops outside being over the top. A few lads behind us got kicked out at the gate for nothing. Out flight back to manchester was delayed for hours the next day so missed the parade. When were getting off the plane in manchester the airport staff were clapping us off as we were the players. Fantastic!

9.) The police were shocking that night - using their horses to push people to the ground. There were a few troublemakers who broke through a wire fence, but the policing was totally indiscriminate.

Not the first time I've seen that sort of heavy-handedness in Europe over the years.

I am based here for a few years. Went on Saturday. don't underestimate the 4500ft altitude and 30 degree heat. I have been here for a year although at 2500 ft where i am, i still struggle running. They only landed 3 hrs before the game. After being based at maybe 500ft max above sea level. This is purely fitness.

Having gone to school in Manchester all my life, I once never heard a City fan being jealous of our play/ success. I'm nearly 40 and this is getting a bit sad.

We had a great manager he retired, we may never reach the same levels again, but being jealous off City let's not get to excited.
