evening all, Ed002 if your around m8, any truth to these nani plus chicorito plus cash rumours m8, or is it all paper nonsense again ( sorry for another vidal question m8 ) . and to all the eds your doing a great job at this crazy time of year, its much appreciated :-) also i'll b going up for the game saturday and can't wait for it . even tho ill b travelling up with a bus load of swansea fans lol I hope to god we win or the journey home will b a nightmare lol :-( thanks in advance as always ed

utd78

{Ed002's Note - Juventus want Hernandez. The rest has been done. over and over.}

ed 2 a quick question if you've got time m8, is there any substance to these jordie clasie and martin indi rumours flying around or are the journo's just talking nonsense as usual? thanks in advance :-)

utd78

{Ed002's Note - Feyenoord's Clasie remains a target for Fiorentina but whilst interest from Spurs seems to have waned, Sunderland, Swansea and Manchester United are showing interest.

Feyenoord's Bruno Martins Indi is subject to interest from Manchester United, Roma, Milan and Everton.

I will also say that Fiorentina's Stefan Savic is a target for Milan and Spurs. Do not rule out interest from Manchester United.}

1.) I think the good news is that a lot of the players that LVG has identified will be attainable and we will not fall short in the chase for them - for example, it is obvious that Clasie would come here and not Sunderland. No CL will mean that the big boys choose the bigger clubs 8/10 times. So we need to pick and choose very carefully until we are in a strong position once more.

2.) In what world is it good news that we're targeting players that none of the other big clubs are interested in?

3.) Is savic the former man city defender?

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

4.) Isn't Stefan Savić the lad who flopped at City? Just did a little read up on him and supposedly his form has been impressive in Serie A and he's grown up a little so could well be a solid buy for us.

Would prefer a slightly older, more accomplished head to go with our current crop of defenders but may prove useful for us like Garay but that ship may have sailed unfortunately

5.) What's good about us targeting players that swAnsea and Sunderland are targeting? It says something that these are the type of clubs in for these players

{Ed002's Note - So you are some kind of transfer snob then?}

6.) Thanks for the info ed2, first class as usual ;-)

a question for ed 002 if he's around ( first one so take it easy on me m8 lol ) do you think modric or ander herrera would be available this summer, and are they options for us? thanks in advance :-)

utd78

{Ed002's Note - Modric who was offered to Spurs as part of the Bale deal and to PSG last summer. Recently Zenit has enquired after him. Right now I am not aware of Real Madrid looking to sell him.

Herrera gave an interview saying that he was humbled by the offer made last summer by Manchester United but Bilbao is his club and by rejecting the offer they have shown they wish to keep him. I don't se him moving this summer.}

1.) Thanks ed 002

my take on yesterdays game was the first 60 mins or so we played pretty decent football, best I've seen in a long time, and it was all because we played with pace and tempo . but then lvg messed up by making the wrong substitution . he brought fellaini on ( which i don't have a problem with, its a different option we have so why not use it ) but if your going to bring a slow player like fellaini on then surely replace him for another slow player ( mata ) instead he takes herrera off who gives us pace and tempo . with fellaini and mata both on the pitch we were just to slow . painfully slow . personally i think that was a big mistake on lvg's part . by all means use fellaini but our pace and tempo should not have bn compromised by replacing him for herrera, mata should have bn pulled off . not sure what you guys think . And a big shout out out to luke shaw, our stand out player i thought these last few games, gutted for him . hope he makes a full recovery soon and is back in our team asap !!

Well Mr Woodward thanks for introducing me to this new experience., going to work on a wet dreary Monday morning with a smile on my face 😊 credit where credit it is due he's done very well this transfer window, the thought of bs, schniederlin and herrera in the middle is a magic one, I think that's as good as any midfield in the league, could be the end for mate and possibly fellaini tho 😕 a good centre back and we're good to go I feel . I think we'll challenge for the title this year now personally, with a big signing like muller, or bale ( if Di Maria leaves ) I think there's a good chance we'll win it 😊

1.) 13 Jul 2015 07:27:32
I'm pleased with the signings and am generally positive but I think winning the League might be a stretch. Let's assume Shaw is 1st choice LB and we sign a CB. That means at least 3 of the back 4 are 'new'. This doesn't include DDG who may also go and leave us with a new keeper. Then we have 3 other new players all of whom are likely to start. That means we will have at least 6 new players in the 1st team. If DDG goes and we sign a top class forward, it could be 8. That's an awful lot of players to integrate and get settled into the right formation with the right tactics. It's going to be exciting and great to watch but to change so many players and win the league is ambitious.

2.) 13 Jul 2015 08:28:58
AJH that is exactly what I was thinking, we all get excited with lots of new players being signed but how long will it take for LVG to figure out his best combination, will the players gel, will some struggle to adapt to the premier league.
We only have to look at Falcao and ADM from last year to realise winning the title isn't always about signing the big names, it's about building a team that understand each other. Still, excited for the new season to start.

3.) 13 Jul 2015 09:20:36
stoat,

The thing is we haven't just signed the 'big names' so far, every player we have signed you can work out why we have signed them and each of them is a player who seemingly wants to come to United. I know all players say this but it does genuinely seem like BS wants to sign for us, the pictures of Depay I've seen he looks relaxed and happy and is making all the right noises and Darmian seems delighted to have signed, hopefully the pressure won't be too much for him.

I do agree we may take a little time to settle, especially if we sign 3 more, but I do feel the signings this summer have been more thought out, we obviously knew who we wanted and have got them. let's hope the same thing happens with the next 2-3 players.

I guess De Gea has made his mind up but if I was him in training this morning looking around at the freshness of the team and buzz that must be there I would be considering dumping my gf and signing a new 4 year deal!

4.) 13 Jul 2015 10:23:08
Totally agree ajh, I'm delighted with the signings but it will realistically take time to gel. Unfortunately we had so many gaps in quality that this level of change was inevitable but it means a lack of consistency going into a new season. What I hope for above all else is to take a big step forward this season, then next summer to only need to make 2/3 changes, and same the following summer etc.

28 Jun 2015 12:56:23
Wouldn't it b something if we could sign vidal and schniederlin lol . Schniederlin playing the holding role with vidal and herrera box to box . Di Maria and depay out wide with Rooney up top !! That would be some team, think it's just a pipe dream tho eh guys and eds lol if only 😡😡😂

utd78

1.) 28 Jun 2015 13:45:20
He's going to arsenal and what a team they'll have next year.

2.) 28 Jun 2015 13:53:45
As long as we don't sign Jack Butland to replace DDG it does look good (on paper)

3.) 28 Jun 2015 14:01:24
i think di maria will play the role you have vidal down for

4.) 28 Jun 2015 14:03:42
Lot of rumours circulating that Vidal is joining arsenal. They're contenders next year if so. With Cech too

5.) 28 Jun 2015 14:17:47
Will Vidal be the same player next season ?? I would love to have him in my teams but if Vidal carries his Juve form into Arsenal then they surely will have very strong team

6.) 28 Jun 2015 14:28:08
Arsenal are one top striker short of a potential title winning side if they get vidal

7.) 28 Jun 2015 15:00:57
Yeah if arsenal get him their going to b some side I think . I think Di Maria and herrera as our box to box midfielders may b a bit to lightweight jred m8 . Carrick as anchor with herrera and schniederlin as our box to box duo could work tho

8.) 28 Jun 2015 15:13:29
If the Vidal to arsenal rumours are true, all they are lacking is a goal poacher, this in my opinion would make their squad strongest in the league. For a side who wanted to get their transfers done earlier looks like we're lagging behind a bit 19 days till pre season

9.) 28 Jun 2015 15:42:48
JameiJ

None of the big teams have made a move and the last 2 weeks will see some serious moves. Sitting there having blown your powder with nothing more to offer can be quite embarrassing:)

10.) 28 Jun 2015 14:48:34
Ed002 is telling arsenal fans that over on there page that vidal is going to arsenal! Still hoping he's just teasing them but doubt he'd want the agro after ! That is a huge signing for them but they have far too many attacking midfielders now! We should bid for Wilshere

11.) 28 Jun 2015 16:06:48
Players back this week .We still don't know if DDG is going to our keeper this season let alone any additions coming in .

12.) 28 Jun 2015 15:40:33
Nomid

Your new name should be the grass is greener on the other side LOL.

I will wager we finish ahead of arsenal and happy to hand over the cash to ed001 in Dubai as long as someone does it at your end that the eds vouch for.

Arsenal need a holding midfielder and a central defender. Their goal keeping is decent but not great so chec will help in that department.

They have never lacked in the midfield area and will you sit Ramsey to Play Vidal or Willshire? does he offer them anything those 2 don't and do you think Wilshire will agree to sit on the bench, because Ramsey is better than Vidal and in this crazy market he is a genuine 40 mill plus player.

13.) 28 Jun 2015 17:50:13
Pepgiggs

An arsenal fan asked if there was a chance vidal would sign for them which he/she replied "of course"

Then another mentioned something about 1% to which he/she replied it's a lot more than a 1% chance of signing (or something along them lines)

Hardly told them he's signing.

If Ed002 was posting here and we asked the same questions I'd imagine he/she would give the same reply

14.) 28 Jun 2015 18:04:14
I have that feeling that if Vidal joins Arsenal- we'll regret it like we did Fabregas

15.) 28 Jun 2015 18:44:29
Discount dave

It does appear ed is giving them more than a bit of hope, especially with his comment 'alot more than 1%' or whatever he said.maybe he would have if someone hadn't pissed him off. Be nice to get a new comment off him from our side! Seems like none of the eds want to comment on the vidal situation at the minute

16.) 28 Jun 2015 21:28:19
Gcu. Not at all. We are stronger than arsenal in a lot of positions. But they're lacking a top aggressive midfielder, as we are. But I think if they get vidal and a decent striker then they will challenge next year.
As for betting, let's see who they get and who we get before making any silly bets!!

02 Jun 2015 08:50:57
Personally i'd love to see a midfield of Herrera, schneiderlin and nainggolen, I think I would suit the premier league perfectly, creativity, steel, height and speed, one of the best midfields in the world for me there . With a cb and rb I think we'll b some force next year . I'd like a striker but I think bedding in another 5 new players could hinder the team rather than help it unfortunately ( although benzema or lacazzette up top would b awesome lol ) guess every fan can dream tho lol

utd78

1.) 02 Jun 2015 21:13:53
Completely agree. These are the two I would love to sign for United.
If we can get them, then we'll be challenging for the league next year.

26 May 2015 13:37:00
so the season is over, and we made top 4 so in some ways job done . still not a fan of this philosophy but i think lvg deserves another season and with a few new signings who knows, things could come good :-) on to signings, i think a rightback is essential, and a centre back of course . i'd also like to see nainggolan and schneiderlin signed for the middle, i think these 2 players with herrera would b superb, creative plus plenty of steel, depay and di maria ( i'd rather bale but not likely ) with rooney up top would b some team, thoughts eds and reds ;-)

Thanks for that ed001 , completely agree m8 , do u think lvg will b still b here after the summer ?? Could b worth a cheeky little punt on a him leaving lol

utd78

{Ed001's Note - I would be surprised if he was the manager next season, there are already certain powerful parties within the club who want him out.}
