Manchester Evening News reporting Hansi Flick wants Rashford at Barcelona for £44.8 million.
Hopefully this will materialise and funds will be available to finalise Mbeumo deal.

11 Jul 2025 12:29:48
Highly doubt it. Much more likely that this is more PR from Rashford.
5
11 Jul 2025 12:39:35
I’d be amazed if Barcelona signed Rashford and by the time they do will Mbeumo still be available?
My prediction Rashford, Sancho and Antony will all go out on loan right at the end of the window.

🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞.

11 Jul 2025 13:59:17
No way in the world are Barcelona going to spend any transfer fee on Rashford. In my opinion.
As above this will be his own PR team leaking made up stories to just get his name out there.
I’d be surprised if Barcelona had £40m.
3
11 Jul 2025 16:11:35
Nah all be gone way before end of August Alib. Rashford probably last. Anthony will go betis, sancho unfortunately will fet his 5m from utd to get him off juve. Rashford will go somewhere but I doubt it will be 40m, more like 25m.

11 Jul 2025 19:54:31
Barca want him on a free loan…. thatll help us. Why do all clubs come to us cap in hand like they’re broke the. Spend millions elsewhere! Joke.
1
11 Jul 2025 22:46:24
Given we’ve got no incomings, Rashford is still our best bet as striker. Shake hands, grow up, and let’s get playing some football.

10 Jul 2025 19:32:27
Rumours that garnacho is allowed back to team training. if this is even remotely true then what are we playing at?
3
10 Jul 2025 20:29:43
Surely that can’t be true! Maybe he’s at Carrington training away from the 1st team like Rashford!
0
10 Jul 2025 20:44:39
One wonders whether the club is struggling to get rid of Garnacho and Rashford, and perhaps Amorim is subsequently the subject of a good ol' fashioned commercial noogie.
1
10 Jul 2025 21:05:24
Not team training, he and the others are allowed to use the facilities at Carrington if they wish.
1
10 Jul 2025 21:09:16
Two days into pre season and Amorims authority is already undermined.
Might as well bring back Sancho and Rashford.
The club should already be planning for a mid season managerial change around october/ november time.
3
10 Jul 2025 21:09:17
I guess we’re playing at all kids are going to make mistakes, perhaps the club are finding no value in the market to replace him, maybe nobody wants to buy him, and he’s a contracted player for Man Utd, an exciting youth product and human who’s not to be discarded to the waste?
3
10 Jul 2025 21:25:51
Maybe nobody a-calling is the dose of reality Garnacho's big ego needs. There are aspects of his game which are excellent for a younger player.
1
10 Jul 2025 21:50:24
Out of the 5 i'd have garnacho back. He does actually work for the team. He just needs to stop leaking stuff to his brother and knuckle down. He's going to be a very good player when it all clicks.
4
10 Jul 2025 21:51:23
When were garnacho rashford and sancho banned from 1st team training?
5 players were granted extended leave 1 week to work on finding a new club.
At no time did amorim or the club as far as I'm aware say they were not welcome to train after that extra weeks leave.
2 others were granted extended leave in bruno and dalot due to the death of their close friends and intl team mate.
When was it said by anyone that they were not welcome back after their extended week?
4
10 Jul 2025 21:54:17
Not sure that he can be just told not to turn up. Not sure how that plays with employment law. He hasn't been sacked so?
I don't see the problem with it.
2
10 Jul 2025 22:17:16
Looking at some of the OAP free transfers we are being linked with like Ndidi, Vardy, Wilson etc. I’d probably stick with Garnacho too.
1
10 Jul 2025 22:51:24
Who from the club has linked us with any of those fallguy.
0
11 Jul 2025 04:47:06
He is a United player currently so every right to be at the club until he is no longer a club employee, not really anything to get so excited about, makes zero difference, in fact might be a benefit, he will be gone soon enough.
2
11 Jul 2025 06:29:48
Nobody directly from the club has linked us. But when does the club directly say anything about any non United player.
Reports could all be BS, but that’s no different to most rumours out there around United.
0
11 Jul 2025 07:58:25
Ken
Well reported that Rashford turned up at Carrington but was not permitted to train with main group, trained on his own with a coach. Widely reported the five are not going to train with Amorims main group.
0
{Ed077's Note - His "dream" is to play with Yamal at Barca, so why would we make him have a "nightmare at Carrington" 😉
2
11 Jul 2025 08:21:46
Redman rashford was given a weeks grace. He was not part of the team training as a result.
Nowhere has the club said all this 5 players could not come back training next week.
I doubt they really want them in the team group. This way those 5 can come back next week and as they are a week behind not join the 1st team training and tour.
At no time has there been any word from the club that they cannot come back training next week.
Reported by whom redman?
Why is it that people believe some ridiculous press reports and then call clickbait when it suits them?
Nothing from the club on this so why believe the daily star?
1
11 Jul 2025 12:40:56
Ken
I don’t read the Daily Star but I do read Manchesters main evening newspaper. Maybe try it.
As an example they reported today Rashford drove into Carrington on Thursday to train on his own again.
He arrived at 4.47pm, eight minutes after Ruben Amorim had departed.
0
11 Jul 2025 12:46:48
I don’t consider it unreasonable to allow him access to the club training/ gym facilities so long as he, and others aren’t connecting with team training. He’s still an employee and an athlete needs to train.
0
11 Jul 2025 13:42:14
Fizz
No problem they can train separately at Carrington, they are not banned just separated from the main group.
0
11 Jul 2025 15:27:33
I appreciate we want Rashford to move on, but it’s in the clubs interest that he stays fit and healthy…. plus I don’t get all this hatred for Rashford, some fools even saying he not worth 40m when you have likes of Kudos MGW even Erlanga going for more!
Weird the way some minds work and the biased views instead of logic
Yes Rashford gone backwards last couple of seasons, but he got the ability to be much better than the above 3 named that’s for sure.
I get people think he downed tools, maybe he did maybe he got other problems, we have no idea….
0
12 Jul 2025 05:36:20
Totally agree German.
I for one would love to see a motivated and fit Rashford play for us. he's our best finisher still. I’d say the same for Garnacho - much
more raw, but has a higher ceiling.
I’d say the same about any of our exiles - tube demand for shiny new signings is always there. Perhaps we look closer to home a little - all these players improved when they left us temporarily (Sancho, Rash, Antony) . Is it all on them, or the culture and toxic environment of our club on the whole right now?
0
{Ed077's Note - Sancho improved so much that Chelsea paid a compensation fee to not buy him. And Rashford did so well at Villa that they've been banging on the door for him ? 🤣🤣🤣

07 Jul 2025 22:28:45
So the club were in talks about an Amazon documentary. Amorim didn't approve and the club now agrees with him. Not happening! Thank god!
11
07 Jul 2025 23:42:22
Yes thank god that multi-billion pound company didn't want to pay us to do a documentary. Its not like we need the money or anything.
4
08 Jul 2025 07:35:11
Absolutely the right decision. Would rather not have the distractions than the money it would bring.
11
08 Jul 2025 09:02:52
Kurtis, on the face of it yes it would be brilliant and bring in funds…however in our current climate with redundancies, low staff morale, player issues etc I just don’t think it would be a good look and I’m pretty sure RA would rather not have a camera up his a$$ every minute of every day. You just know if sancho etc are t gone then the cameras would have been all over them. Much better to avoid it and focus on the football.
8
08 Jul 2025 11:09:56
I'm glad Amorim said no to this, I don't like these programmes and I don't agree with them. Yes they will bring some finances into the club however, IMO they will also undermine a club’s core objectives, performance, cohesion, and competitive success.
The primary focus during a football season must be winning matches and maximizing performance. Bringing cameras into dressing rooms, team meetings, and private spaces creates an unavoidable distraction. Players, coaches and maybe even the manager could end up changing their behaviour as they become conscious of what is happening.
Successful teams have strong bond and togetherness, these programmes risk exposing tactical plans, interpersonal tensions, or internal criticisms that should remain private.
Finally, the more drama, the more viewers the programme gets, filmmakers and directors could manipulate or over dramatize certain things which gets out to the media and stories are suddenly blown well out of proportion, we have enough of that at United without this.
Not for me and I am glad it's been canned.
11
08 Jul 2025 13:55:55
I'd love to watch this, absolutely love it.
But it's not for the team at this moment IMO. House is so out order and he is trying his best to bring it back into line. He doesn't need cameras there.
But something that will eventually happen, I'm sure.
6
08 Jul 2025 14:12:25
Problem is ports, clubs are already letting Sky into dressing rooms next season along with stupid substitute interviews and more idiotic American football logic… the game is becoming a sham sadly…. Everything is about money, the fans, everything else is just a commodity
TV money is killing the game.
4
08 Jul 2025 15:50:01
Whilst the rumoured fee of £10m would be well received, do not think it anywhere enough for the potential fall out.
The press love to make up anything possible to attack us. Imagine the consequences of seeing behind the scenes and how they would present it.
It would also be hugely disruptive to the daily routines of all concerned.
Offer us £100m and we'll maybe think again.
1
08 Jul 2025 20:54:18
Would we be on TV with this before or after Love Island or perhaps on the Disney channel, after all, didn’t Woodward idea say we were like Disney when trying to recruit Klopp?
Let’s watch arguments and bickering and club being shown as turmoil, dragged through dirt because that is what they would portray. At this difficult time it would be ridiculous to sell our soul for 30 pieces of silver, to see the latest dirt smearing on TV.
Amorim is spot on, none of this nonsense, be a serious club at this time. When they come to do it one day, show the Directors trying to negotiate the MBueno deal.
3
09 Jul 2025 06:15:48
The Mbeumo saga. That’s a whole box set not just a deal Red.
1
09 Jul 2025 09:49:42
I must admit - I jumped the gun on this one. Now the fee of £10m has been confirmed, its a drop in the ocean compared to the negative consequences.
0
09 Jul 2025 13:23:59
Usually I’d be against something like this, but it might actually be a good thing to highlight just how broken the club is at the moment and the amateurish nature of the jokers trying to fix it. We’re already a laughing stock, and seem destined for another bottom half finish with or without the distraction, so why not let our owners bring in a camera crew to show the world just how clueless they really are?
It could end up being the first step toward getting rid of them.
0
11 Jul 2025 12:22:31
I wouldn't watch it even if they do it. No interest at all in it personally.
0
07 Jul 2025 21:24:21
Looks like elanga is off to Newcastle. I'm surprised we didn't look to bring him back, I always liked the look of him and he would fit into one of the 10s that were looking for. i'm sure we had a buy back or sell on fee so could have been an easier deal to make.
0
07 Jul 2025 21:28:56
He's nowhere near the level of Cunha or Mbeumo.
14
07 Jul 2025 22:01:36
Elanga going could help get Mbuemo over the line with the money we’ll receive.
3
07 Jul 2025 23:43:19
And we are nowhere near the level of Newcastle DonRed. I wonder who is better off.
2
08 Jul 2025 02:43:41
What are you on about Kurtis? Just a complete non sequitur.
2
08 Jul 2025 08:46:23
Maybe it was a non sequitur, but I think its worth asking—are we in a position to scoff at players like Elanga when we’re not even competing at Newcastle’s level?
3
08 Jul 2025 11:16:31
Fair point kurtis.
4
08 Jul 2025 12:27:44
The original question was whether we should have gone for Elanga as it would've been an easier deal. We are close to securing not just one, but two signings at similar fees that are substantially better players. If you lads want to scoff at the club then fine, but Newcastle are overpaying by a lot here.
1
08 Jul 2025 13:12:23
Would hardly say they overpaid. Ranked third in the league for assists, is 23 years old and let's not forget ran through our whole team to score against us. We have paid a lot more and received a lot less in the past.
0
08 Jul 2025 13:57:19
I agree Kurtis, but him coming back would present its own issues. He is going into a highly functional team at present and it's a better move.
We, I think have paid slightly more for 2 players that are better and we have already seen Elanga in red. It's not for everyone.
0
08 Jul 2025 15:49:30
Never rated him to be honest like the poster further up said he's nowhere near the quality of Cunha and Mbuemo.
0
08 Jul 2025 22:04:22
Decent player. He was perfect in Forest’s system. Not sure he’ll be quite as effective at Newcastle.
0
08 Jul 2025 22:05:22
You watch elanga out do the both of them next season. Yeah he's not the fancy name and we've had him before, but there is a seriously good player there and by the time he's the age of the players he's not better than, he will be better than them.
Newcastle will challenge next season with a front 3 of gordon, elanga and isak.
4
07 Jul 2025 13:12:22
Seems Javi Guerra is next to arrive. Thoughts?
0
07 Jul 2025 13:51:23
Do I know much about this player other than stats and a bit of Google searching. no
If this is true do I absolutely love it. yes
Would mean that we are doing work without noise getting out which is everything we have wanted and why (foolishly maybe) I think we need to stay calm and see how the transfer window plays out.
4
07 Jul 2025 16:25:41
Know nothing about him and not sure what to believe anymore. Could be true could be BS. Who knows🤣🤣 I'm sure someone will be on to tell us he only has 3 toes on his right foot and can't kick with his left and fill us with negativity.
4
07 Jul 2025 16:44:57
Actually Ken, if you had checked, you would know he has 3 toes on his LEFT foot and can't kick with his RIGHT. Research is all😊
Seemingly a very good and elegant young midfielder with a release clause of 100m euros, although allegedly available for a lot less.
Who knows!
1
07 Jul 2025 17:49:54
Seen lots of posts saying this isn’t happening, who knows these days. Hopefully the Mbeumo deal can be completed this week, or we should move on.
1
07 Jul 2025 17:56:54
The story I read says that he has a release clause of over £80m, but United hope to get to get him for about £30m.
Must be a slow news day.
3
07 Jul 2025 18:09:36
Actually Ken you got mixed up again, it’s Antony who lacks toes and a foot too.
0
07 Jul 2025 18:24:10
Not happening. Move on.
1
07 Jul 2025 18:24:40
Its hard to keep up German.
As its a slow news day
onana is doing a celebrity stars in their eyes. and yes he is doing stevie wonder.
0
07 Jul 2025 19:02:11
this rumour seems to have fizzled out as quickly as it started.
1
05 Jul 2025 14:32:21
Reading that we are possibly close with a Sancho move to Juventus if salary can be resolved with potentially Luiz coming the other way.
Has anyone seen Luiz since he left Villa, if we get that version we will be adding a quality player suited to the PL that will help. but not seen much since he left.
3
05 Jul 2025 15:16:50
I like Douglas Luiz and he's a great player to have in the EPL. I'm not sure he's the ideal partner in midfield for Bruno, and seems more suited to play alongside an Ugarte type player.
A swap deal could be very smart, as the clubs can inflate the value of the players in the swap to show a greater profit on the books. For Juventus it means they can breakeven on Luiz, for us it will probably show a small profit.
10
05 Jul 2025 15:44:31
He was terrific at Villa, but according to all reports has been very poor at Juve, hence them looking to sell.
If it happens we shall have to hope we get old Luiz.
Tend to agree a bit with Shappy, not totally sure he is the ideal fit for Bruno.
There is much talk we are after Fabian Ruiz of PSG, he is a fabulous player, but again not sure he would be a good fit for Bruno, he's great at advancing the ball but not great defensively. Surely we need someone good at that aspect of play.
1
05 Jul 2025 16:57:48
I’d absolutely love Luiz.
Can’t see it happening though.
1
05 Jul 2025 19:15:14
I’d really like Adam Wharton.
Hayden Hackney would be an interesting gamble.
I think Douglas Luiz would be a good addition too if Casemiro moves on.
2
06 Jul 2025 05:22:49
So are we now saying Luiz is better player than Cass….?
0
06 Jul 2025 09:44:14
Cass despite some decent games in Europe last season can't cope with the pace of epl sp yes at this point Luiz would be a lot more effective than casimero 100%.
8
06 Jul 2025 14:24:59
So have you seen Luiz in the EPL last year to know he be better at coping, he not coped very well in Italy!
I would take Cass all day long over Luiz because he already here and he got bucket loads more experience and also a game a week will suit him fine… so I see no point in Luiz in Cass out, that’s for sure, no problem Cass out if a proven midfielder but Luiz ain’t that.
1
06 Jul 2025 16:14:15
German, Douglas Luiz made 175 appearances for Aston Villa between 2019 and 2024.
He's very much proven in the EPL.
He's a different kind of midfielder to Casemiro. Less combative, but better on the ball.
Peak Casemiro was a better player than Luiz has been, but right now in the EPL Douglas Luiz would be the better player. Casemiro just hasn't got the stamina for the EPL anymore unfortunately.
5
06 Jul 2025 17:14:23
In your opinion you mean…. I know he was at Villa but hardly pulled up any trees for them and looked awful in Italy last season, so the jury out if he be any good here, another year later… I would totally disagree though that he better passer or better with ball at his feet than Cass… or even able to score goals like Cass can……. I have no objections to getting Luiz I just don’t see an upgrade if Cass goes for him to come in, maybe an upgrade on Ugarte but not on Cass imo.
4
06 Jul 2025 18:46:53
German your hate for Ugarte is comedy gold.
4
06 Jul 2025 19:22:18
Why Redpaul, is he great then? Am I missing something and did PSG miss something too? In fact are all clubs missing something with him, even RA don’t start him in bigger games is he missing something too!
Please enlighten me what’s good about him or is he comedy gold and that’s what you mean
I don’t hate him, I don’t know him, I judge him as a player and he is not very good, that’s not hate…… your being woke with that word.
3
06 Jul 2025 19:31:41
German, he did pretty well at Villa, was chased by Arsenal and considering by City, won the supporters and players player of the season awards in 2022/ 23, and Juventus ended up paying €50m for him. Not an insignificant amount.
He got 10 goals and 10 assists in his final season at Villa while playing deeper in the double pivot.
I think most people who have watched him in the EPL for Villa appreciate he is a very good player.
4
07 Jul 2025 05:56:22
He might HAVE been a very good player at Villa, but Cass WAS an exceptional player at Real Madrid…if we are talking in the past tense! So bit of a non starter comparison in my view…. As usual you’re masking your view with stats so why not show stats of last season then? Maybe for them both? Thought not….
3
07 Jul 2025 06:09:27
I agree on ugarte. He’s not great. Arsenal have a decent set of midfielders and they’ve still added real quality in zubimendi. That’s what we did when we were good. Added high quality when we were already strong.
Even if we had have been lucky enough to have got Cunha, Mbeumo and Gyokeres I still feared for our midfield of ugarte, Bruno, Mainoo and collyer/ Casemiro. There isn’t a natural pairing of 2 amongst them.
Get the spine right first. That’s always the first rule in forming a team and right now ours is way below the standard, especially compared to Liverpool, Arsenal, city, Chelsea. I’d even argue that the two cop winners newcastle and palace have a better spine.
Out of those teams just considering
Keeper
Centre back (in our case the middle of the 3)
Centre DM
Attacking midfield we’re stacked but then we’re moving our best player back into a role that isn’t a natural fit. Remember it was Bruno that was dispossessed for the spurs goal in the final.
CF
Onana worst of them by far.
Maguire and deligt are “ok” but far below van dijk, Dias, Saliba, chelsea have 3/ 4 better.
Ugarte - nowhere near at the level of zubi, caiceido/ enzo, Rodri, gravenbach.
CF - least said the better.
We needed to improve up front but in reality we’ll struggle if we don’t upgrade the entire spine. It’s going to take 2–3 windows to get right and challenge again.
No wonder gyorkeres doesn’t want to come. We’ll improve this year, no doubt, but I still don’t see us breaking top 6. The road back is going to be long and painful.
2
07 Jul 2025 13:18:29
Agree airforce.
Gk cb cm still weaker than a new born kitten
But it will take time and unraveling the mess of dumb contracts to crap players will take some time.
That said we i'm very hopeful we can address keeper this summer along with the forwards. BUT WE HAVE TO SELL PLAYERS BEFORE WE CAN BUY.
0
07 Jul 2025 14:09:44
At last someone agrees, that we are very weak at CB I banged the drum for an age that the spine of the team is terrible and that’s what is being worked on, but we have to remember many don’t want to come to United it’s a long term project, especially they don’t want to come if we not now over paying on salaries, what else we got to offer.
I also agree top6 is going to be a push, but least one we will be aiming for next season.
The club is working to get the spine…GK, CB, Mid and strikers RAknows what he needs the club knows too, lots on here seem to think the glass butcher the fridge carrying CBs and can’t pass a ball 5 yards midfielders are good enough…. the same players that got us 15th last season
Garnacho, Rashford Sancho possibly Mainoo will all be gone. If RA had his way Ugarte, Onana Malacia, Rasmus and Zirkee will be gone too, but that might be wishful thinking….
1
07 Jul 2025 16:31:30
German i she on those with the exception of mainoo.
Technically and very good player and has time on his side. Had a bad season with a couple of muscle injuries last season and was clearly not up to standard.
However I think he has got lots of the fundamentals required.
Ra has put him on a special endurance and speed programme reportedly. If he can improve his athleticism he will rock most boxes.
Not a list cause by any means.
The rest of your list will all be gone sooner rather than later imo but can't all be done this summer.
1
08 Jul 2025 04:40:52
I did not say he is a lost cause, but he lacks mobility for a midfielder and speed that’s needed in today’s game especially when surrounded by no pace as is at United, if a good bid come in he would be on his way, but I don’t see a bid coming, because every club is aware of his shortcomings, that’s why I said possibility of him moving only… the rest are total waste of time, I would also add Deligt and Martinez the glass butcher to that list, they are both average at very best and again both too slow, both too injury prone too….

04 Jul 2025 13:29:59
Looks like we may have heard some positive news today around Rashford. Firstly Bayern are showing an interest and apparently Rashford is open to this.
Secondly it looks like Nico Williams has signed a new 10 year contract with Bilbao so at least for now he is off the list for Barcelona which maybe opens them back up.
On the Williams news whilst I am sure he is being paid well you have to respect a player who puts happiness and where he wants to be, playing with his brother for a team he obviously loves over everything else.
6
04 Jul 2025 16:01:44
Barcelona are not stupid enough to stump up 40 million for that clown absolutely no chance.
He will either end up back at United or on loan somewhere and we will be footing half of his wage bill.
Both Rashford and the club are a complete embarrassment for ending up in this situation.
4
04 Jul 2025 16:20:13
He will be on various loans for the rest of his United contract. Nobody would get close to paying his current salary. Always a chance he could come back to United, but I doubt it unless the manager changes.
0
04 Jul 2025 17:21:03
The press were telling us he was back to his best at Villa, yet they chose not to try and exercise their option.
4
04 Jul 2025 19:20:23
He scored more for united than villa last season. I never understood the big improvement headlines.
I can see a deal done with Barcelona if they are allowed register new players. I think he would do well there.
2
04 Jul 2025 20:47:28
He proper rattles people on here. It's very amusing.
1
04 Jul 2025 23:11:45
Same could be said for you angelred. 😂.
6
05 Jul 2025 07:37:30
He does Angel, as does Sancho. He doesn't rattle me, I just find it massively disappointing that a local lad who could have gone to achieve great things has lost his way, for whatever reason.

I'm not sure what 'lost his way' means AJH. He had been playing okay this season for us, scored 7 right? Given the way the season went after he left, and how every else played in the team, didn't everyone 'lose their way' then? But no other player takes pelters. He is forever hammered via the media.
The club were the ones to tell him to move on so he went to villa. And I watched the majority of his Villa games and tbh he played really really well. I don't think he wanted Villa, but the narrative is, Villa didn't want him.
Sancho on the other hand has just been a horrible signing from the get-go.

Nonsense angel. He was not playing well. He scored a few goals 7 I think 2 sets of 2 so he scored in 4 or 5 games and didn't try to fit in with the teams philosophy on top of the same last year. abject performances.
Having mediocre personal stats in a team game is often not an i dication of how you fit into a team.
Villa didn't want him. They had an option to buy him but never tried.

Hes always blown hot and cold, he had a remarkable run before he hurt his back and then the blinding season when he came back, but he's always been streaky.
He suddenly had loads of tattoos, jewellery, flash cars, and a high profile lifestyle. Nothing wrong with that, but when you are ambling around the pitch appearing not to be trying, the criticism is justified.
Remember, I was one of his biggest supporters and regularly defenderd him, United Addict and I used to clash on Rashford, but there comes a point when enough is enough. I 5h8nk h8s head had gone, again, for whatever reason.

AJH,
You've perfectly summed Rashford up.

05 Jul 2025 15:18:25
Rashford will do well if he goes to a top side. He's a very good player, but lacks consistency. With better players around him his dips won't be as noticeable, while he will also get more time and space on the ball so will likely score and assist more.

06 Jul 2025 11:15:56
Most here would say Rashford has lots of talent but he doesn't seem to work on his weaknesses. His pressing is awful and that's just application. Ambling around when the ball is in our defence isn't the worst thing especially if he puts in the effort in attack. He doesn't jump for headers, make decoy runs or generally work as a team player. His output doesn't justify the rest of the team putting in the effort on his behalf. There are numerous reports of him being almost uncoachable and that he doesn't listen to instruction. I hope he changes and makes the most of his talents, but we need to move on.

Rashford is not as bad as everywhere on here tries to paint, if he goes to Barcelona which is very good possibility he will do very well, with much better players around him all the focus won’t be on him, he appears to lost his way and needs the move to resurrect his career, much worse players are moving for well over 40 mil, so Rashford going won’t be a problem.

Rumours that Newcastle have bid £55m today for Elanga. Does anyone know how much we will make if the deal goes through? Pretty sure we have a sell on clause. Every little helps in the coffers that's for sure.

03 Jul 2025 20:15:12
Believed to be 20% on net profit, if true would be £8m for us.
2

Thanks 👍.

Hopefully there is some truth in Real Madrid looking at Alvaro as well which could bring in a similar amount of PSR profit.
Improves our position or let's us offset if we can't balance this on the Sancho/ Antony deals.

04 Jul 2025 15:22:11
The absolute ideal would be Mason Greenwood getting a transfer, rumours of him moving for circa £60m.
Now that would be fantastic as we get 50% of net profit, that would be circa £17m, certainly would be good for accounting purposes.
Him and Elanga would be circa £25m so covering £100m spend.
Bish Bosh give us the dosh.

Hmm. Hopefully ex-players can help us more in the shorter run than our existing set of guys on ridiculous wages. hope Elanga, Alvaro and Greenwood get solid big money moves! Maybe add £30M or so to our skint budget.

Iwotb. Love your posts generally but that's complete misinformation or ignorance on financial topic.
25m profit does not pay for a 100 m outlay or cover the outlay.
Imgurssing you have no idea so why refer to it . Your just making stuff up and people making stuff up lads to frustration.

05 Jul 2025 13:36:46
Ken, of course it does. If £100m is spent on players approx £25m of that spend will appear in the accounts initially.
I stated that this would be from an accounting standpoint meaning compliance with Profit and Sustainability, so not in terms of absolute spend.
I can assure you I have an understanding of these matters, if you believe something to be incorrect then instead of instantly resorting to abusing try being specific.

05 Jul 2025 16:34:04
Iwotb where in your post did you mention psr and from an accounting perspective. Where did i abuse?
Him and Elanga would be circa £25m so covering £100m spend.
Bish Bosh give us the dosh. That's what you posted. It's simply not true and wildly inaccurate.
Why would 25m of the spend appear in the accounts initially? What will be there to cover the 25m for next year's accounts in that case? 25m does not cover a 100m spend on the books or anywhere else and if you think it does your sadly mistaken.
No abuse just pointing out that that is misinformation. Do you read the clubs accounts? Where will the agents fees taxes etc and associated costs come in iwotb. It simply does not work they way your are stating.

Ken, what are you talking about.
Yes, I do read the accounts.
Your post is clearly a somewhat vainglorious attempt at obfuscation and deflection, what's all this about associated costs, they are dealt with in a normal business manner.
You talk of agent's fees, well as you know these are amortised along with the transfer fee and represent a very small amount of the transaction.
Your sole explanation of why my post is wrong is 'it does not work like that'. First of all it does work that way and secondly how does it work then? You offer no explanation merely stating 'you are making stuff up'.
Now, for the final time, if we credit the accounts with £25m approx from sell on clauses that is net profit. If we purchase players at roughly £100m and then charge the accounts with an amortised sum of approx £25m, from an accounting and regulatory standpoint that is acceptable. This figure could, of course be reduced if you amortise over 5 years
You also ask where does next year's £25m come from, I find that a somewhat surprising question as clearly it comes in exactly the same way all amortised payments do, that is from next year's earnings. As you know this is normal business practice.
Now, clearly what I have said is true and you coming back with 'that's not how it work's' does not constitute a valid rebuttal.
I would hope this to be end of the matter, any continuation could lead to the conclusion, by some, that you are unable to accept reality and argue simply for the sake of it. Surely not!

Its true for next year. Your statement was and one again I'll re post it
Him and Elanga would be circa £25m so covering £100m spend.
It doesn't cover a 100 m spend.
It will cover year 1 or about 20% short if year one when you take into account associated costs inc pay offs. As you say assuming a 4 year amortisation period.
Next year that 25m will need to come from other incomes so the 25 profit will not cover a 100m spend that's just a simple fact.
You worded your post inaccurately that will lead to confusion for many that are not a familiar.

06 Jul 2025 14:12:20
Ken, you are just making things up to confuse people. It does not work like that.

Hopefully Liverpool turning down approaches from both Bayern and Barcelona for Diaz will turn them both towards Rashford.
Juventus seem to be keen on Sancho, hopefully the knob will lower his wages and get himself the move.
I think Betis will pay £25 million for Antony, he has seemingly stated he will drop his wages to get the move.
8
03 Jul 2025 12:44:47
Why is he a knob? Because he won't lower his wages than the club gave him contractually?
8
03 Jul 2025 13:44:55
No Angel Red. Because when he had the glorious opportunity of playing for Manchester United, he couldn't be bothered putting in the requisite effort and took the michael out of all the supporters who invested time and money to watch him.

03 Jul 2025 14:13:33
With most players I agree, but Sancho has equated playing for United with being imprisoned. Yet, when Chelsea offered him a chance to stay there, he refused to reduce his wage demands.
He can’t have it both ways. If he’s that desperate to leave, he needs to take a wage cut because no other club is stupid enough to pay what we are.
If he wants to keep his wages, we have to acknowledge that he would rather get paid £300,000 a week for doing nothing, than leave a club he hates.
12
03 Jul 2025 17:27:46
I don’t have a problem with him sitting on our bench getting his contractual wages. I think he’s a knob as I presume he wants first team football and wants to get back in the England squad. He needs to lower his wages to achieve that.
2
03 Jul 2025 18:21:04
I don't think he's good enough mancman. Wouldn't lead me to call him a knob.
Danny he doesn't need to, the last 2 seasons have proved him to be correct. Played for Dortmund and Chelsea. So he hasn't been earning 300k and doing nothing. He's been earning 300k and playing for 2 big clubs.
He doesn't have to lower his wages Keano. He will still probably get a move to a decent team this summer, sacrifice no wages and if he has a good year, could make the England set up anyway.
I don't begrudge him or think he is a knob at all.
1
03 Jul 2025 19:19:52
Keano I have a problem with him sat on the bench and even being part of the first team. If he refuses to leave, let him train alone and don't even let him play with the youth setup. Not sure on contractual requirements regarding game time.

03 Jul 2025 20:05:54
angelred, why do you get so triggered with opinions held by others? If folk think he’s a knob they think he’s a knob, big deal.
BTW, Sancho is a knob. Deal with it 😂.

04 Jul 2025 01:21:27
Yep knob has it covered.

Calling Sancho a knob is being kind.

Team Talk reporting Utd are about to bid E40 million for Atalanta GK Marco Carnesecchi.

Ah, and Italian goalkeeper, what could possibly go wrong.

02 Jul 2025 18:01:58
Amad/ Hojlund
Hit/ miss signing from Atalanta! It's hard to be optimistic so if we do sign hopefully a hit
I would of preferred to take that young lad that's of to Newcastle.

{Ed077's Note - Trafford you mean?

Def agree about Trafford.

02 Jul 2025 23:04:31
Yes 077 that's the one good stats but he's a Toon lad now.

{Ed077's Note - another overhyped English Goalie.

AJH, that Italian GK who plays for PSG is alright.

03 Jul 2025 08:30:59
Negativity pouring from every post. Hatred will do that to you.
2
03 Jul 2025 09:25:17
Ed077,
Which GKs would be your pick?
0
{Ed077's Note - Maignan, from the ones linked with a transfer.

03 Jul 2025 10:38:12
If that's aimed at me kenneth, then you don't understand the difference between hatred and humour. Take that bee out of your bonnet 😃.

03 Jul 2025 15:25:55
I think it was just a personal statement, AJH.
Looking like Carragher will do that to the mind of a boy.
2
03 Jul 2025 15:24:55
Ed077,
He would be a fantastic signing. However I don't think he is a realistic signing, given our lack of European football. He would give Utd at least 4-5 years of top football.
0
{Ed077's Note - you don't know that until to try it.
3
03 Jul 2025 17:39:48
Ed077,
True. Looks like AC Milan are will to negotiate on his price. i'm surprised Chelsea didn't pay abit extra for him. He is far better than any of the keepers they have now.
0
{Ed077's Note - he's too old for them ?
