Had Onana not given away a goal we might have got back into that game, but his error effectively killed our chances.

For all the talk of being overrun in midfield, the first goal was a long ball over the top with Mazraoui slow to react. Our CBs were then too slow to get back to cut out the cross. After that the game was pretty even and we were good value for 1-1 at 1/ 2 time.

There are many doubters when it comes to whether the 3-4-3 system will work in the EPL, or, alternatively if it will, how many new players will we need to make it so? 6? 7? And where will the money come from? How many top EPL sides play it? Yes, Sporting beat City, but that was largely down to 2 things: City's failure to take the many chances they created, and the failure of their high line defense to cope with the counter attack. Those are not the conditions one encounters much in the EPL.

Mazraoui has been pretty solid since joining but yeah, played a stinker today. Mitoma is a tricky customer.
