You have to be careful about taking players from Scotland. The league is vastly inferior to the Premiership. A typical example was Anthony Stokes. Came to Sunderland after scoring goals for fun in Scotland. He was worse than useless when he went to the prem. And that's not even someone going to one of the top teams. Another example is Samaras, absolute dung in the prem league but scored goals up there. Not saying Waynama isn't decent but how do we know? Big gamble. I'd prefer to see proven quality.

4.) 11 May 2013
I don't believe Samaras ever played in the premier league but from a Rangers fan Wanyama is a beast & will be a big part of someone's 1st team in The EPL believe me the lad has huge potential he is one of the strongest young men I've ever seen play he has a good shot handy in the air strong tackler with much to learn but great chance of being a huge player probably not at Utd though. Don't see many people complain about Van Bronkhorst, Arteta, Petrov Larsson or more recently Jelavic, Steven Fletcher Mcarthur & McCarthy came from Hamilton Accies Christ sake our leagues have some very good players.

5.) 11 May 2013
He played for man city and was awful the Scottish league is too he's below average. Gnz989

6.) 11 May 2013
Every game he played in the champions league against good teams he played great so whys everyone saying its a big gamble he is only 21 awell and will only cost around 10 million and we paid 12 for zaha

7.) 11 May 2013
Yeah sure he did well for Celtic in Europe, but expectations are different when you play for United. Mistakes get highlighted a lot more, as does a poor performance. i'm not trying to disrespect the player or the Scottish league. Take Berbatov as another example if you want. Appeared brilliant at Spurs, but all of a sudden at United looks lethargic and inconsistent. I think it's a bigger risk taking a player from Scotland as some of the opposition they face each week is not the best so it's harder to be sure of the quality thats

Wanyama performed well against Barca and Juve. The SPL may be ordinary but this guy is good. Not saying we should buy him but he's a lot better than some on here think.

9.) 11 May 2013
Agreed with the poster above. No disrespect intended but the quality in the SPL is low compared to the pl, so it's hard to judge players ability with any consistency as they are playing high level opposition rarely if at all, a few good games in Europe is not enough to judge effectively by.

He does look like he has real potential though.

10.) 12 May 2013
Who would you prefer Anderson and Cleverly or Wanyama I know who i'd pick

11.) 12 May 2013
If you looked at Cleverley when he was at Wigan, he made a big impact. People were comparing Anderson to Ronaldinho before he joined United. I think you've proven my point for me. Different levels of expectation at different clubs.
