Everton have confirmed that they have rejected a £28million bid from Manchester United for Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines.
Elmo,

If this is true we may be having a very quiet window!

When they say ' Everton have confirmed. '

Where's the proof of this confirmation statement?

Im 50/50 on this bid report. We can't be THAT dumb to bid in such a way for 2 players.

IMO that bid is a bit low for two of Everton's key players.
It's still early in the day, so I fully expect there to be more movement on this today, probably in the shape of an improved bid.
Personally I think getting some mid-field muscle (Fellaini) in before the Chelsea game could be key to the season, even this early on (yes I know it's still August).

3.) 19 Aug 2013
'Midfield muscle'.We are so boring to watch now.Get some quick, skillfull and quality players in first. After talk of Cesc and Thiago etc if all we get is Fellaini I will not be a happy chappie.

So as predicted by many on here our extensive transfer activity comes down to bidding on these 2. Things must be bad!

I will get shot down but hey-ho, other top European clubs have improved their squads extensively, we haven't and have need to for the last 2 years.

Like many I watched the Swansea game, you can say Swansea are a good footballing side and make excuses but we weren't that brilliant with basically a first XI playing. I don't think we are going to be frightening Barca, RM, Munich etc in the CL.

If everyone is happy with 3rd in the league & champions league 1/4 finals fine I will say no more. I just thought we professed to being the best in the world!

Well said dave, moyes said he was only.looking at world class players if he think that they world class then he wrong big time!!

6.) 19 Aug 2013
I think we are being very shrewd here, Everton want James McCarthy, but can't buy until they sell.

So, everyone dances round until someone blinks.

Think us lucky that Daniel Levy isn't involved.YET!

7.) 19 Aug 2013
Dave, I for one would take 3rd in Moyes' first season. I think that would be a great achievement, along with CL 1/4 finals.

You need to get realistic, we've just had the best manager ever, Moyes can't attract the Cesc's of this world, rather than moan about it just accept that we are going to be weaker for a couple of seasons while the new manager builds up his reputation, soimething he can't do without the help of the fans.

Get realistic.

Nowhere does it actually mention the names of the two players. Sly spurts are just guessing to who they were. For all we now one of the players could e Barkley.

9.) 19 Aug 2013
Well Wazza, perhaps we should have selected a different manager who could attract the "big names". If you believe such achievements are acceptable then perhaps you support the wrong club.

Wazza have a look mate fergie got a lot of players yes but do.u think he never missed a player if u do your wrong, and who ever is in charge they are in charge of one of the biggest clubs ever moyes might not have the pull on players but everytime a player has signed in past they go on to say how when they see the club how it run the set up that what makes them want to come the club , man u are not a 3rd place side man u is about winning even at the lowest times the club has been built on winning, yes fergieis the biggest name in fpotball.but in hos own words no one is bigger than the club fact the side moyes has with one or 2 world class siging will take on anyone

Arsenal had a 10m bid rejected for cabate why don't we put a bid in he's class?

12.) 19 Aug 2013
I think 23 million for Fellaini and 18 million for Cabaye would make us less like a polo mint - hole in the centre etc and more like an all round powerful team.
