Ed 001/002 - A couple of questions if you do t mind:
1. Do you see it possible that Depay could be sold next summer if his performances and attitude don't improve? Seems a little hasty but that's the impression I'm getting now.
2. Do you see Bale being available anytime soon ie next summer?
3. Are we targeting any centre backs for January and if so do you know who?
4. Do you think Carrick will still be at the club after next summer? I can see him moving to the MLS or similar, as I'm not sure he will figure much in LVGs plans going forward.

Cheers.

{Ed002's Note -
1. Unlikely - he wasn't ready for the move, I spent the summer explaining that was the view of someone who knows far more about the player and Dutch football than anyone at Manchester United.
2. The situation is unchanged, if someone offers ridiculous money he might be available.
3. Mustafi and Martins-Indi are being repeatedly looked at.
4. I am not sure by what you mean "or similar".}

Carrick is still top class imo, if he is still able to perform at the top level there is no way we should sell him.

Jase -o Carrick has been great over the last few years but he is clearly struggling now. He's good at picking passes through the lines but he plays at a very slow temp and is very immobile which is the opposite of what LVG wants from his players. Ed - when I say "similar", I mean a lesser retirement friendly league.

Thanks so much for transfer targets Ed002 - don't suppose we're liking at any strikers as well? ! Info much appreciated!

{Ed002's Note - Right now I think the focus is on the CB position - MU will not buy a striker for the sake of it.}

Prodigal, Schweinsteiger is also very immobile, but the difference is that Carricks positional awareness far outweighs his. Carricks the best passer of the ball we have got, and is also the best at shielding the back four. I agree his tempo has been slowing down, but so was Scholes towards the end of his career, but he was still able to come back and help us win the league. I think we would be stupid to get rid of Carrick, who else could we bring in to replace him? Intelligent players like him are few and far between these days.

Schweinsteiger is both more mobile and a better passer of the ball than Carrick, not sure why you would think that Jase. He also makes more interceptions and tackles per game so that would tell me he is positionally better too. VG is not stupid, there is a reason why Carrick is usually on the bench for him. Carrick has always played at a slow tempo, and SAF didn't care about that because when you play on the counter like SAFs It doesn't matter much.
