News of the Anderson deal has gone very quiet. Did we get cold feet?

Let's just wait n see. What ever will be will be. Ed said he thought we would sign a player or 2 but that it was difficult in jan for a number of reasons. 12 days to go so all us supporters have to play the waiting game.
There will be rumour and counter rumour and loads of tabloid, twitter, and sly sports crap that wind up the gullible fans between now and Feb 1st .

I think we are all impatient because we know this current squad isn't good enough to finish top 4 without a couple of first team signings.

I don't believe we are willing to pay the asking price which is supposed to be around £35m. If that is the case then we are doing well to pull out of such a deal. Really not worth that much.

While the squad could certainly be improved (they always can), I don't think the squad is really the problem. I think we already have the players we need to do much better than we are, but LVG's selection and tactics are the bigger problem.

It's not going to do us much good if we sign great new players then either don't play them or play them out of position, or if they aren't allowed to play their natural game.

Just look at Herrera and Martial now. Martial looks far more like a natural striker than a winger, yet he is repeatedly stuck out on the wing, while Herrera has probably been our best midfielder since he signed for us, yet he is repeatedly left on the bench behind Carrick, Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger.
