Call me cynical but usually when someone's agent, even if its their father, comes out and links us to their client usually in a week or two there's a new contract.

I read one of the Eds writing that there is a salary cap for clubs in Spain and Barcelona are only just under it. Both Messi and Neymar are due pay rises in summer which would take them over the threshold and there would be significant consequences to Barcelona if they break the barrier. Therefore logically something would have to give, my guess would be mire likely Messi rather than Neymar who is the future and Pep at City may have more pull for that. Neymar may want a big pay rise but whether Barcelona can deliver it without sacrificing someone else is another matter.

Neymar is the player Barcelona want to build around, they will find a way to keep hold of both, the league will not want to lose them so will probably give leanway towards Barca.
