Luke shaw done his ligaments.

Did anyone find Jose comments a bit childish , a sarcastic dig at a player who has just got injured.

Either way, he's done at United. Shame - great ability but can't stay fit.

It doesn't look good from the outside.

It looks like a young player has suffered a serious injury, then as most players are after such an injury he was cautious and unsure of his body while making a comeback. This for some reason has annoyed the manager who has then baited him into pushing himself beyond what he felt comfortable doing which has resulted in another serious injury.

Obviously we aren't partial to the inner workings at the club but from the outside that is what seems to have happened. If that is how it played out I wonder if Jose feels proud about baiting a young player into a serious injury.

Shappy
I was talking about Jose sarcastic comments after the player was injured.

Not sure pushing yourself to do something you aren't ready to do results in going over in your ankle Shappy.

I know, but he has repeatedly baited injured players into trying to get back from injury far too soon.

Not too sure about that one shappy.

How long did the boy need to come back?

Get rid asap before he screws the club for anymore money. Bad buy move on. He has had some bad luck but guys life.

Probably right Ken. I feel like there are too many apologists for luke shaw.

How many managers have called him out on his fitness? Even the Eds who are way more in the know than us have also stated he has been lazy with very bad lifestyle choices.

Albeit another injury, they just keep racking up. Maybe time to let go at the end of the season.

GDS, of course it can. If he isn't fully confident in his body then he will be going in half heartedly. A lot of the players get injured more by not being committed and trying to avoid injury.

The rumours floating around is that Shaw and a few others are fearful of pushing their bodies due to fear of injury. If this is true then publicly shaming them as Jose has done for most of the season is putting pressure on them to play when they don't feel fully ready. This can lead to further injuries.

I don't feel comfortable with a manager using his press conferences to put pressure on young players to put themselves in harms way.

It's a balancing act, I'm not saying that some players shouldn't be pushed at certain times. But publicly shaming them and backing them into a corner over matters of their health isn't acceptable.

So a player gets injured people's opinion is sell him because he's apparently screwed the club, and then they expect players to be loyal to the club and fans to be non critical of their favorite players or managers.

Before you get any ideas ken, i am not talking about you but rather how fans in general have gotten across the board with every club.

I liked shaw, even defended him up to recently.

BUT he is another Sturridge in the making so time to move on.

Csm. I was of of those that wanted shaw and I saw a player with real potential. But for one reason or singer it had not worked out.
He has had some bad luck with injuries but has been criticised by 4 different managers for his conditioning in the last 4 years.
Jose has questioned his attitude and bravery.
Like Veron or poborsky or gary birtles some signings just don't work out. It's been a financial disaster and will cost millions but he is useless to the club if he can't stay fit or contribute in a positive way. We need better.
I'm no fellaini fan but he has turned out to be a better buy for the club than shaw. He keeps himself fit and offers his all for the cause.
Shaw also appears to rub Jose up the wrong way so there appears to be no future I their relationship.
Jose will be like fergie and be ruthless in getting rid of players if he feels its right.
I hope we are ruthless in getting rid of some of these perennial under achievers we have on the books.
The squad has some balls and steel about it for the first time in years but there is a severe lack of top class quality at the club. Very few proven winners. Little or no leaders. Jose will put those players in place and get rid of some of the big girls blouses he Inherited.

02 May 2017 19:06:17
Time to sell. I've given up hope with Shaw. 3 years with the club now and bar a 8 game spell has been average at best. Injured a lot and always looks overweight. Time to sell and buy a solid LB which is a position that desperately needs addressing.

14.) 02 May 2017
02 May 2017 19:17:01
Totally agree stand. It just has not worked out. With Jose at the helm it never will work out for shaw. Get as much back as we can and wish the lad good luck and wait to see if he can fulfil his potential elsewhere. But imo its safe to say he is not going to become the world's best left back.

15.) 02 May 2017
02 May 2017 19:21:52
What if we don't sell him, will people be really disappointed after all some have gone on and on about it .

Still think Jose comments are out of order after one of his players got injured .
Lack of class seems to be feeling the pressure.

16.) 02 May 2017
02 May 2017 19:46:05
Csm
Right on the money there .
Why do fans get so caught up with wanting players sold .

A player gets an injury in this case a twisted ankle, it happens .
Do people want him to recover etc, nope just the same old sell him buy a expensive name from abroad because that's more exciting .

I think some of some of the treatment Jose has dished out to shaw especially at the weekend is a bit out of order .
But that could be seen as a bit of a negative towards Jose so of course for some that won't go down well.

17.) 02 May 2017
02 May 2017 20:11:04
Nothing wrong with keeping him as back up left back and buying a better, fitter replacement for the first team.

{Ed004's Note - That is what I would do. Get a left back in to compete with him}

18.) 02 May 2017
02 May 2017 20:32:22
I think Jose is behaving the way Jose does, it's pretty poor but is anyone surprised?

19.) 02 May 2017
02 May 2017 20:43:49
I'm all for backing a player and supporting them when things aren't going well.

But luke shaw has been here 3 years and apart from bits here and there has not really given himself to the cause.

I would be much more sympathetic if he was giving his all and was unfortunate enough to have an injury. But he hasn't shown 100 percent commitment at any point of his United career, this has been indicated by many people in the know.

I am not happy at the thought of selling a committed player but luke shaw is far from that and one who cost a lot of money, is costing a lot of money and is filling a position in the squad that might be much more deserving of a left back who actually wants to play at the top level.

20.) 02 May 2017
02 May 2017 21:00:01
I agree with all of that Angel.
Personally I'm not fussed who we sign and if he costs 5m or 40m as long as he does his job to the very best of his ability. Jose will decide who he wants and why.
All players are only as good as their last season in both their on field displays and training performance.
No player will get support groom the majority of supporters if they fail to produce for 2 seasons or more.

21.) 02 May 2017
02 May 2017 21:23:44
I think it's more if we sell them they can be replaced with better quality and Shaw is a million miles off a high quality reliable player who you can rely on week in week out. He was going on for 40m which can't be far of 2 million a game that's Ronaldo/ Messi money for a crocked left back who can't defend.

22.) 03 May 2017
03 May 2017 06:02:28
I'm with jred here. It's almost like jose thinks a player can will himself back to fitness.

23.) 03 May 2017
03 May 2017 08:45:54
Imightbesomeone, maybe Jose sees more and knows more than we do?

24.) 03 May 2017
03 May 2017 10:05:03
Angelred
Then he should speak directly to the player. Not make sarcastic jibes on tv. That helps no one.

25.) 03 May 2017
03 May 2017 10:41:54
You don't believe he has?

His jibes on tv? Asked miki and martial how that works.

26.) 03 May 2017

Angle
True, neither of them look that happy .

27.) 03 May 2017

Martial always looked happy jred 😂.

Permanent smile that lad.

29.) 03 May 2017
03 May 2017 17:22:02
But smile aside. Both players have been playing better. So I think he at least got that right.

30.) 03 May 2017

I think it's time the Clubs and Sponsors made footballers wear proper shin pads instead of these nicotene patch type ones they wear. If you go tothe shops and buy some they're big enough to cover the whole shin and there's also ankle support to them.
