Any truth in reports roma have enquired on taking martial on loan?

{Ed002's Note - An interesting question. Roma are going through a massive rebuild this summer and they are after someone who can play as a centre forward and also on the left of a front three. Their first choice has proven too expensive. Their second choice is still being discussed with his club. Their third choice will be to ask Manchester United for a loan of Anthony Martial. I am not aware of any approach at this time - and unless Perisic moves the answer would ceratinly be no.}

Not sure what to think of this. Maybe a year of solid first team football will benifit him instead of being in and out of the team. However I still think he deserves a real chance this season as he showed glimpses at times. We have to remember he's only 21!

I'm not sure, with only rashford and martial who can play as an out and out striker at the moment (lukaku not officially announced as yet) it would be suicidal to let him leave.

Thanks ed for the info.

Martial just needs to get his head down and work hard. Last season he had a lot of issues.

Jose loves hard workers. I'm sure if he's committed enough in training and keeps him self knuckled down he will get plenty of games.

Ed maybe i am reading a little too much into your post but does that mean perisic is the only wide player we are now showing interest in?

Hope it doesn't happen and would like to see Martial knuckle down and earn a place in the first 11. Exciting season ahead.

If Martial is loaned out then in my opinion the clubs list management is being ran by mugs.

Why maze?

Because he is our most naturally talented striker and needs an arm round his shoulder and coaching to fulfill his potential to be one of the world's best perhaps?

I think there would be some merit in loaning him out depending on whether he is seen as back up or a regular starter by jose.
Personally i think he is a fantaztic dribbler and very good finisher but his game management and movement off the ball is really poor. This will improve with games and experience and if he is not going to get enough game time here he won't improve as quickly as he could if playing for a good team elsewhere.
He had a tough year last year both on and off the pitch so suffered. It looks from the outside to me that he and jose have polar personalities and by his own admittance he has difficulty in managing that type of personality.
If he is going to start 30 or so games then i wouldn't loan him out and hope it works out and shows his potential because i agree he does have a lot of talent.

In my view he's a good squad player. I wouldn't loan him out. BUT he's nowhere close to being as good as people on here think he is.

He's very over rated on this site, and maybe by Utd fans in general. He for me is someone who thinks its ok to turn up once in a while, a bit like Ozil when playing for Arsenal.

We can't loan him out with only him, Lukaku and Rashford who can play centre forward surely?
Are there any plans to replace Rooney this window?

Really?

He's young, and yes, he's inconsistent, but most are at that age. On his best days though he is electrifying.

Only if he is not in the managers plans Thorne. Ideally i'd like him to stay and force his way into the team through hard work and good play.
