He has clearly come purely for the money. how can you get excited about this mercenary? If it were about trophies he would of taken a cut an gone city to pick up a pl medal. He will rinse his contract at united, put marginal effort in an then fall out with jose. Whilst being 29 and stunting rashfords and martials growth. What has happened with united? alex ferguson would of never bought someone who publicly points out united are his second choice, to city of all clubs. More fools jose i say.

Benny by that logic why has van dijk signed for Liverpool instead of city, last I checked you have as many trophies in last 5 years as likes of Stoke and westbrom is he too a mercenary.

What a load of bollocks Benny. He would be getting millions at city in sign on fee and wages too. Why has vvd gone to you?

The VVD and Sanchez situations cannot be compared at all. VVD made it clear since day one that he wanted only Liverpool, not City or Chelsea.
Sanchez on the other hand got greedy and demanded more money from City who pulled out because they felt he was not committed enough to their cause. Hence Utd are his only option now but then he will make a lot of money off your club.

{Ed001's Note - not true. City decided they would rather wait until the summer as they do not need him right at this moment. Nothing to do with money at all. If it was Sanchez would just wait until the summer when he could get a much bigger signing bonus and a bigger wage. This is about his desperation to get out of Arsenal as quickly as possible.}

Wouldn't Sanchez have the same wage demands regardless of who was in for him? If his agent says he wants x amount per week then that is surely what he will be asking any interested party?

We have had plenty of players on huge wages over the past few years who have not done enough to deserve such sums. Schweinsteiger, Depay, Rooney (his last contract), Di Maria even Ibrahimovic being re-signed. Ultimately if Sanchez signs and is fantastic for the next 3 or 4 years no one cares about the money spent. The majority of the time people talk about money in sport is when it has been wasted, to me Sanchez seems like he is more likely to succeed than fail.

This is a desperate attempt to convince yourself that were getting a bad deal Benny, but how would you honestly feel if Sanchez ended up signing for Liverpool? Just have a think for a minute before you post because your coming across as bitter and jealous.

We're (probably) signing a world class player Benny, just as you have sold one. Is it possible you are bitter?

Don't worry though, Southampton will bring a youngster through to replace Coutinho soon enough.

Stay positive.

Surely, this is a massive coup signing Sanchez? On shirt sales alone, that will cover the transfer fee paid for him.

Genuinely delighted about getting Sanchez!

Opposition fans are so so so desperate for United to be a 'sinking ship' and never win anything ever again that they are actually starting to believe it is true.

Jose is useless and all we do is defend (apart from having the 2nd best goal difference in the league), we will never win anything and the only chance of winning anything is by going to city (even though since Fergie retired in our worst period in 30 years we have won the same number of trophies as them (2 more if you include Community Shields) ) and nobody would sign for this unknown club Manchester United unless it is for money.

As a united fan you have to enjoy the bitterness, just look at the post above, how annoyed is Benny that we are getting one of the best players in the Prem? It is there for all to see and it is fantastic.

Hated. Adored. Never ignored.

GDS, since Sir Alex retired 5 years ago we have won an FA cup, League cup and the Europa league. As well as a couple of charity shields (which no one really counts) . So we have won three major trophies since Sir Alex retired.

If we can get this Sanchez deal across the line I wouldn't be surprised to see us do well in the UCL. Mourinho will know there is little he can do to win the league now as we need City to lose at least 4 out of their last 15 games to give us a chance.
The UCL doesn't have an out right favourite this year, none of the traditional top teams look unbeatable. Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have been patchy. Juventus don't look as strong as they did in the last couple of seasons. Chelsea are hit and miss. Liverpool look great going forward but have to be concerned about their defence when they come up against to top side. Spurs are unlikely to get beyond a quarter final unless they get a kind draw.
That leaves us and the two favourites which at this point are PSG and City two teams who have never won it. Admittedly we aren't playing amazing football atm, but we are getting results. Cup competitions are all about results and in my opinion we have the best cup manager in world football.

So I see us as having as much chances as anyone else left in the competition if not more than most. Add Sanchez to that, a player who can win you a tight game with a moment of brilliance, and who has a habit of scoring important cup goals. Then that must improve our chances.

1. Shirt sales, the club doesn't profit from them.
2. Not bitter or jealous, he is a player who relies on pace and Is just about 30.
3. Vvd is none comparable, his agent sort out Klopp so they could all have an illegal dinner in Blackpool and vvd stated he wanted lfc.
4. His wages will be higher at united, as city would of paid him a bigger bonus in the summer, allowing weekly demands to be lower.
5. he's actually been DS this season, it reeks of the falcao signing where he just came for a pay check.
6. He agreed to join Man City at the end of the season, and now backed out when more money batters its eyelids. You really want a player like that? Not to mention he's technically a city cast off.
I'll be back in may to either say I told you so or eat Hun please pie. But the mans getting one last big fat pay cheque before heading back to South America.
