I want Alderwerald but will take Maguire if we are moving to a back 3 where i thing his skills are better suited. He would add poise on the ball at the back, good defending and attacking set pieces.

Log term he could turn out to be the better option if he comes on and is given the time to bed in. That said for now i would still take Aldwerwerald.

I suspect you’re close to the truth there OT: great article in one of the nationals about current events mirroring lead ups to previous JM implosions (board disagreeing with signings, breakdown in relationships etc) so, as a hard business decision, maybe they’re preparing for Jose to leave mid season and that’s why they want to hang onto Martial and Pogba to see if new manager can get best out of them. Jose wants immediate success, hence older experienced players with no resale value, while board wants a decent investment.

Hate to say it, and really hope I’m wrong, but this isn’t going to be an easy season for United.
