For 002 if around. Any progress on the search for a right winger? You mentioned trying to sell a move to Manchester to Chiesa, is it a possibility?

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed from what I have previously stated as far as I know.}

I still can't look beyond Willian. I know Ed2 has shut that down on numerous occasions but if he's available he'd be immense for a few seasons. Quality and works his socks off.

Chiesa is a cracking player, but I do worry about the idea that we need to convince him to leave Italy. Italian players have a very patchy record when they've moved outside of Italy.

If the kid doesn't want to leave Italy then how long will it be before he wants to go back.

I don't think we should be having to convince any player to sign for us. It's not like we are a club they will have never heard of, players know who Manchester United are. History suggests very few players who don't want to sign for a club do and succeed.

Willian is going to command a huge wage and I fear it will likely end in tears as it did with Sanchez. He’s likely to lose his pace.

Willian, as good as he might be, is not the direction we should be looking in my opinion.

Willian is not an option as i understand it. He will either renew with Chelsea he wants 3 years. Or he will probably sign for spurs. His family are settled in London and they have other business interests there too.

{Ed002's Note - And Manchester United have shown no interest.}

Chiesa is a quality player though sounds as though he’s waiting for a bigger Italian club to come in for him?

Big step for anyone to leave their home country shappy. Maybe not simply the case trying to convince him to join United. Maybe an Ed can elaborate on why he needs convincing.

But it's always a tough decision to make, leaving your home, no matter how big a job opportunity is presented.

Could also be the case, that once he gets here and settles, he might be absolutely fine. I think it's unfair to dismiss it at this point without knowing the facts.

{Ed002's Note - It is taking a youngster out of his comfort zone of sunny Italy with the wonderful Mediterranean food and the beautiful girls laughing as they zip around on their Vespas to move to the grim, wet and cobbled streets of Northwest of England where there would be a significant cultural change, overweight tattooed women pushing wheelchairs with kids who look like their brothers, smog, dead & dying pit ponies laying on the street, little chance of football at the highest level and only chips and fried curry to eat.}

Thanks ed, I heard that's exactly what his thinking is 😂

I heard he wasn't too keen on watching every episode of Corrie either.

I don’t think Ed002 has been to Manchester since the 1800s, it gives us more of an idea of his / her age at least!

😂GDS.

I think Manchester is a lovely place. Always enjoy my trips up there. Some beautiful spots for players to live there too. Cheshire has some lovely spots.

Always a culture shock though for any southern European player moving there. Especially if they are young.

I'd imagine it's the sale of moving to the UK rather than the move to United.

Come on ed002 have you seen Angela's ashes? Manchester is paradise compared to rural Ireland were the kids are still educated in bush schools before a 6 hour shift picking potatoes in the fields😂
Im not sure what it is, obviously a cultural thing but Spanish players seem to travel and settle a lot better than Italian players into England.

{Ed002's Note - I have not seen it Ken. Players from some countries struggle to settle in England.}
