Good morning ed002.
I see united linked again with SMS this morning. Is there any truth we are looking at him again?
I thought he was psg bound?
Ta.

{Ed002's Note - Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (CM) Manchester United has not shown any interest in Milinkovic-Savic this season and have been difficult with Pogba and his agent in looking to leave - and that never looks good in the eyes of players or agents. Right now, it seems unlikely and the price would be about €100M to Manchester United as a starting point - and Pogba has nowhere to go. Juventus are looking at other options, but he remains on the list. The player was offered to PSG but there are issues holding up commitments from them at this time - although they might push with a better offer than the one that was rejected. Lazio have a replacement in mind but think that they could lose him elsewhere. Real Madrid see him as the preferred option to Pogba - where interest is waning as Manchester United are stuck in the "stupid" cycle but they now have a significant matter to deal with so they can be discounted. Manchester City see him as an option to their preferred choice and could well turn to him - but that is not happening at the moment. Every chance he will stay where he is unless he is available at a reasonable price or PSG decide to push for him before addressing their management issue.}

Could you expand on what the significant issue is regarding united please ed?

{Ed002's Note - The way the club is run without a proper structure is a mess.}

Hi Ed002. Hope you’re well. Still in Cornwall? Regarding the club, are they aware as such that the way they run the club is amateurish and is there someone external/ independent to the club who is able to point out that the structure is a mess?

{Ed002's Note - The amateurs do not accept that they are amateurs.}

Morning Ed002,

You Firstly suggest that United have a significant matter to deal with then elaborate that it is a structural issue within the club (I’m guessing that the footballing matters that should be dealt Autonomously by a Director of Football as ably demonstrated by Chelsea, Liverpool and City are trapped in a painfully inefficient hierarchical structure)

Are United aware of how incompetent their existing structures are compared to other more dynamic clubs? And if so, are they actually going to do anything about in in the near future? Or are they just content to keep things as they are and continually conduct transfer business in an amateur way?

{Ed002's Note - The club periodically look for a Director of Football but those running the club seem reluctant to give up the associated responsibilities.}

Thanks Ed002. Their attitude to relinquishing control seems at odds with making the club more successful. You’d think that intelligent business people would understand that. They only have to look at other elite clubs to see what kind of DoF structure is needed.

You’d really hope they’d put their own egos or agendas aside for a minute to Look longer term for the good of the club.

Thanks Ed. Pretty shocking that they have no self-awareness. Seems like there’s going to be plenty of ups and downs over the next few seasons unless they pull their finger out.
