Ed02 Dortmund gave us the 10th August as a deadline to get the Sancho deal done.

Do you know if all talks are now scrapped or was this a ploy to push united into agreeing to their price before their pre season camp began and they are actually still in negotiations?

{Ed002's Note - It was driven by the start of their pre-season, nothing else. There is no need for negotiations.}

Ed, I’m assuming this is because the writing is on the wall as it were for United and it is simply a case of paying the money or the transfer doesn’t happen. Is that accurate?

{Ed002's Note - Manchester United has shown no indication that they are will to complete the transaction.}

Thanks Ed. So the club hasn’t even made a formal ‘bid’ for the player?

Ed002 does Woodward involves in talks with Dortmund fir Sancho or he will judt sighn the deal (if agreed) . I don't want to criticize, i just see so many people moaning about Woody and i don't think it is fair . For some people it seems like woody is at fault even for bad whether in England.

{Ed002's Note - I have explained before that others are involved.}

To me it seems that every other club has decided that the overall cost of Sancho is far too high, and Dortmund are happy for the player to stay another season.

In contrast, United think that a club with no real need to sell will just lower their price.

I wish the transfer window was over and we can just talk about football rather than second by second updates of one transfer that May or may not happen, slagging off people we don’t know about their negotiation tactics we have no idea about trying to represent their club’s best interests which we also know nothing about.

Anyway, rant over. France is nice and sunny right now
And I’m having a super holiday.

Dortmund have only one market for Sancho this summer.
Next summer his value drops but there maybe more options.
Agent fees caps are also planned.

Sancho can push this, his agent can change their costs and Dortmund said all the same things when they sold Dembele. Selling clubs are termed so for a reason.

It’s going to happen.

Apparently his contact runs until 2023 so they don't have to sell this summer or next.

Dortmund have been using a 3rd party during negotiations which has complicated the situation as I understand it. The deal isn’t ‘dead’, but United need to cough up the money. I don’t think the club will let this one slip away.

{Ed002's Note - I think you misunderstand a little about the third parties. That is not the issue.}

Happy to accept that Ed but could you give me a bit more than that? My understanding of it is that it increases the money ie money has to be paid to the ‘negotiators’ and that this introduces yet another level of communication which prolongs the process. What am I missing?
Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Your understanding seems a little twisted. Agents are involved as they want what is best for their client - they negotiate the deal with the buying club, the exit provisions with the selling club and represent the player in discussions. They can charge (at the moment) what they like for those services. In certain countries, notably Germany, qualified lawyers need to conclude any deals and deal with contracts. German and other countries require all agencies to also have a lawyer as part of their team if the are registered in Germany. Where clubs employ third parties to do this, they need to be paid - so for instance, Chelsea use the same chap for dealings in Germany and he sends them a bill when he is done.}

Ed002 sorry if that's answered but what's the point of having a third party negotiating in behalf of you?

{Ed002's Note - I have explained the situation.}
