He is buzzing to join United.
- update from Fabrizio Romano.

Conflicting reports on the sancho deal.

Some saying (such as romano) that we've agreed personal terms and agents fees and that the fee is the main stumbling block.

Others stating (such as the athletic) that its personal terms and agents fees that are the main stumbling block.

First game of the season is on the 19th, when do the club move on to alternative rw targets if there are even any suitable ones out there.

We got lucky with lockdown and greenwoods fantastic emergence post restart but we desperately need to get in a right winger before the window closes.

Just seen that he says no issues with wages or agent fees, player can't wait to join .
Only issue is the price.

Romano even acknowledged there were differing reports, that he was told that personal terms and agent fees are fine, but others have been told that the agent fees, particularly, are the stumbling block.

This has been the case for a while - the problem is as Ed002 keeps saying we don't seem to want to pay what Dortmund have told us we need to pay!

As we've seen with Maguire/ Pogba and whoever else, overpaying for a player can be an issue. If you decide they aren't good enough for you, or don't fit in your system, you'll struggle to move them on and recoup a similar amount of money to what you paid for them. I sure hope Sancho is worth the well over £120 million total package, because if he isn't as impactful as the likes of Greenwood, Martial and Rashford, we'll be in a difficult situation. Let's hope he doesn't keep a better player out of the team due to his price tag. Let's pray he's not overhyped and doesn't just look amazing because of the league and team he's playing in. Of course I'll back him, and you can all mock me if he becomes our best attacker, but I am skeptical of the deal at the given price.

British media now on the same page as Romano. all dropped story at the same time. Seems like a club brief again so hopefully the saga is nearing a conclusion🙏.

The club has briefed to Journalists today that progress is being made, can only mean one thing and that's were close to sealing the deal.

I will be ecstatic with this signing, we will finally have a high quality right winger at the club again!

I read an interesting article that suggested that Sancho was waiting for several contractual bonuses to kick in before making a move. Apparently the deal he signed last year promised a bonus if he stayed on past August 31st (the original date that the transfer window was due to close) as well as a bonus for making his tenth England cap (which he did against Iceland) .

It could be bs, but it sounds plausible enough to me. If it is true, it will be interesting to see if Dortmund end up paying the retention bonus as if such a clause exists, it was clearly only meant to be applicable in the event that he stayed on for the 20-21 season. We might end up with another Messi style dispute on our hands.

The current situation globally ended up going in Barcelona’s favour due to the extended season. If what you have pointed out is the case it seems like Sancho has the upper hand. The dates on the contract seem to be what wins the debate instead of what the dates originally insinuated.
