i just don't get united at all.

its a comedy show in the market,

we knew what dortmund wanted yet offer around 16 million short of what they want.

yet agree 20 million euros for telles, don't sell smalling for a fee that could be used to add to the bid we have already sent to dortmund for sancho.

then apprently are in for this 18 year old kid for 30 million euroes but don't have the money for sancho

the bid was obviously just for fun, never any intention to buy the player just a smoke screen for the good old "we tried"

and again made it out to every club that we don't have a clue on how to conduct transfers

i don't get how we can end the season on a positive feeling to now this,

and now we have a few weeks before we play again., .,

and our next 5 games don't look promising with our current form.

The Traore money was going to be used for Sancho. With that deal dead the money is being spent on other acquisitions.

I don't get comparing Sancho and Traore. We are chasing them for different reasons.

Unfortunately Sly are sensationalising the Traore signing so everyone thinks this is the Sancho alternative. He's just a kid.

Pretty sure the potential for a Sancho deal is the reason why so much of our business is being done late on and why we were pushing for the extra few million for Smalling.

That we’re starting to splash the cash around now would certainly seem to suggest that a deal for Sancho is well and truly off the table now.

What other acquisitions?

Telles was independent of Sancho and Cavani is a free agent.

United allegedly bid £90m for Sancho, and are now signing a kid for less than a third of that. There’s £60m plus that isn’t being spent, despite it being blindingly obvious that our squad is unfit for purpose. The kid won’t even be here till Jan, and even then he will take years to be a starter.

There was no plan this window, and suspect Ole will be gone before the new year.

I think the reality is that the club genuinely thought they could get the Sancho fee down.

Over the last 48 hours when it has proven that they can't and that they have no desire to spend £108m on Jadon in the current climate.

Now the club are facing a backlash and have cobbled together deals for Cavani and Amad Traore to cover their arses. I don't think the club ever had any plans to sign either this window.

I think the club expected a deal for a CAM (Grealish originally, but when Villa wouldn't drop the 80m fee they went for DvdB), a LB looked at Reguilon, Alex Telles and Mykolenko (With Telles actually signing), a move for a young talented wide player such as Stevanovic or Pellistri (a player for the future who might make a few first team appearances this season) and a move for Sancho who they thought they could get the price down for.

When the Sancho deal went up in smoke they quickly spent 60m on Cavani and Amad Traore (who can't join until January) . I don't think the club planned to buy either this summer. Cavani has been available for months, while Amad Traore was going to Parma on loan before that collapsed and we swept in. Clearly two deals that were not a part of our thinking until the last few days.

Our transfer window has been shocking, we will somehow now end up with three highly talented 18 years olds are our only options for the RW unless we play Mata or Lingard there, or continue with a struggling Dan James who we were considering selling/ loaning to Leeds when we thought we could get Sancho.

Utter shambles.

The planning and execution is shocking.

Cavani has not played football for almost 7 months.
His agent said few months back that he would join United only for money.

Why are we again after mercenaries again.

This is part of the article in 4-4-2

Cavani’s brother, Walter Guglielmone, who also acts as his agent, revealed that despite interest from Frank Lampard and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the striker had his heart set on a move to Atletico Madrid instead.

“Cavani was willing to receive less than with PSG, ” revealed Guglielmone. “Atletico could not cover the total economic cost of the operation and PSG did not want to lower the amounts he was asking for. Atletico Madrid did not close the agreement.

"Do you think that Edi did not play for almost a month at PSG so that I could drop the operation for a commission and that Edi did not fulfill his dream of going to Atletico Madrid? If it were for money, Edi would have gone to England, Manchester or Chelsea. ”.

So he didn't say "he would join United only for money"

That's some twisting of words.

Plus the article is from February. A lot has happened since then.
