Eds, what is the clubs position on a CDM this Summer? Thank you!

{Ed002's Note - Not seen as a priority but they have looked at a number of players and could be tempted if Rice comes up for sale at a reasonable price. Manchester United extended Matic's contract last summer.

Gilmour is a quality player but it was cost an arm and a leg to get him from Chelsea.

Fred can't really play that role, he lacks discipline and positioning.

McTominey and Fred do ok covering that role between them, but even then, they can't play their natural game that way, and they play worse overall.

The midfield is horribly unbalanced, and I'd argue this is should be our highest priority signing, even above a CB. A good DM would help our defence a lot anyway, ad well as improving our attacking play by freeing up their CM partner to get forwards more.
