Now that its happened his name is Ethan Ennis

Read elsewhere he was taken around the Chelsea training ground met backroom staff etc and then choose UNited- that's another good sign of hopefully the clubs ongoing appeal to young players.

BFB, it could be. Chelsea have an excellent academy, the issue at Chelsea has always been the pathway into the first team is practically non-existent. Which is why the last academy player to regularly play for Chelsea prior to Mount and James was John Terry. With Mount and James only really getting their chance due to a transfer embargo. Other players like Tomori, Abrahams, Hudson-Odoi and Gilmour who also were also given chances under Lampard have since since those chances dry up with the club spending large fees on players who play in their positions.

Maybe he didn't see a pathway into the first team.

Or maybe he's a northern lad and preferred to stay fairly close to home. I mean he is a 16 year old kid after all.

Tomori in particular was a shame. Definitely had what it takes to be PL CB. Was very surprised to see him not taken to the euros, he had a good season at AC Milan and I would have took him over one of Mings or White.
