Ed002, what is the situation now regarding possible ins and outs at the club following the arrival of Sancho and Varane?

I'd have thought it was pretty clear, we can only name 25 players in our squad over the age of 21. Currently we have 28 players over the age of 21. Meaning at LEAST 4 need to be moved on before we have space to even add just one more player. Even more would need to be moved on to add more players.

By the end of the window we need to have sold, released or loaned 4 to sign anyone we can sign people now we just have to balance it by the end of the window, same with the money although we probably have a bit longer than just this window to balance that.

There's a number of players who's departure wouldn't really make a difference to our usual 11 or match day squad. Not including keepers, we have players like Jones, Lingard, Pereira and Dalot who didn't make a Premier league appearance last season for various reasons.

Williams, Tuanzebe, Garner, Amad, Elanga are all players who could conceivably be on the fringes of the squad or go on loan.

Dan James, Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic are squad players but you'd imagine are further down the pecking order.

Obviously not all will go and not all should but I doubt many fans would think our season would be drastically altered by keeping or losing these players. It's just a case of getting deals done.

Ed002 if you could please- is there anyfirm interest in bailly, james or lingard as of yet? They seem to be players that we could release for a few £££ and not affect the squad so much. tia.

Eric Bailly (CB) new contract but could be available.
Daniel James (LW/RW) may be lucky and get a loan. Leeds have asked for a loan with an option to buy. Will be available.
Jesse Lingard (AM) West Ham want loan to permanent but Brendan Rodgers is keen on taking him. Manchester United will cash in if they get a decent offer.}

Rjmanutd, we have 28 players OVER the age of 21. Players like Williams, Garner, Amad and Elanga make no difference if they stay or go to the naming of our 25 man squad. Players under the age of 21 don't have to be named but can still play. Any player over the age of 21 not named in our squad cannot play for us at all.

Of the players over 21 who we could be looking to move on there is: DDG, Henderson, Jones, Bailly, Tuanzebe, Dalot, Matic, Pogba, Andreas Pereira, Lingard, James, Martial.

Obviously not all will leave, but I think we will likely see 4 or 5 of those players leave and we need at least four of them to go before we can sign another player.

Tuanzebe, Dalot, Pereira and Lingard are the most likely to leave in my opinion.

Although apparently Lingard wants to stay and fight for his place. In which case I'd look to loan/ sell James.

Jones could also be let go if we can find someone stupid enough to sign him.

While I'd expect one of DDG or Henderson to leave.

shappy- info from ed002 if you read above is interesting. Out of the players you name as possible, we could lose a
keeper, (DDG wages off books v henderson fee)
jones (on a free wages and he hasn't played for 18 month)
Bailly ed explained
Tuanzebe =loan fee and experience Villa?
Dalot - fee = ac milan
Pogba?
Matic probably squad or Roma interest? (cant see a loan)
Pereira = sell spain/ italy?
James ed002 info, could be useful as cover for rash?
Lingard Ed002 info again, would rather sell as I think he would be sickened by xmas and potential to lose him for nothing
Martial, sell if we can as we would probably get more for him than the others except PP. Read spurs still hold interest .
PP is the enigma as to position is/ will be prioritised next with incomings but shifting that lot would be a massive boost to wage savings and clearing space for youth and incoming players.
The real positive for me is the prospect of younguns developement over the next couple seasons, greenwood, elanga, shortire, hannibal etc etc .

Shappy, I know the youngsters don't make a difference in terms of naming our 25 man squad. Just stating that while our squad is bloated, there are players of various ages who could leave. Also that the youngsters are options which we don't seem to be considering.

Take Elanga for example. I'd rather see us give him a chance as 6th or 7th in the pecking order for one of the positions in the front 3 than James or Lingard. It won't make or break our season if we keep either and it won't make or break or season if we play Elanga occasionally or bring him on as sub occasionally. However, selling those two and playing Elanga would free up a couple of those spots in the squad and raise some funds for the midfielder or right back we want.

I reckon we will see Andrea's, James, dalot, Jones and maybe Matic all leave in the next couple of weeks just to free up some space.

Is there anything new on Dalot, or is it still stuck with Milan?

Only other one I'm curious about is Pereira at the moment!

{Ed002's Note - Diogo Dalot (RB/LB) Milan want a cheap deal or another loan if they can but it will depend on Manchester United adding a replacement as cover. Milan have other options they are considering and want an early answer. I expect he will leave in the summer.
Andreas Pereira (CM) Manchester United are pricing him out of a move to Lazio or Fenerbahce and KIa has made it clear it is hopeless trying to talk with Manchester United about him and they pretty much hit joke status agross the industry.}

Well it sounds like Trippier is the key there for Dalot then, Atletico to accept our offer (I imagine we've proposed one) .

The pereira situation is rough, can only hope we cut the price significantly to move him along.
