Amad Diallo going to Sheffield United on loan is he?

{Ed002's Note - Amad Diallo (RW) is being offered on loan to get game time after the arrival of Jadon Sancho. Sheffield United have an interest and both Basel and Montpellier have enquired.}

Sorry Ed just seen your below response. Good he's going to be vetting game time. In your opinion what club would be best for him out of the interested parties?

{Ed002's Note - Sheffield United.}

I think he could be ready to play some games in the first team. That said he would probably benefit far more from 30 games in either the Championship or the EPL would be much better for him than playing a few early round domestic cup games in a much changed United side and a few 10 minute cameos from the bench in already won games.

A year in the Championship and he'd be ready to challenge for a first team place at United in my opinion.

We need to be savvy with some of our young forwards. Sending those who are closest to challenging for the first team might be a better idea. We have in the past tended to keep those players "just in case" we need them in the first team. Which we hardly ever do, then their development stalls as they are too good for under 23's but not ready for the first team on a regular basis.

Every player too good for the under 23's but not a regular starter in the first 11 should be sent out on loan. They are at a key development stage and if they aren't playing against players equal or better than them they won't be developing.

Obviously we have players like Shoretire who fits this criteria but is too young to go on loan. They need to stay and train with the first team and get as many first team minutes as possible until they either claim a regular first team place or become old enough to head out on loan and get more minutes.

I'm going to have to disagree with you Ed, a year in Sheffield watching a greyhound run in circles or a year in the South of France catching the opera, a bit of wine tasting (alcohol free of course) and those beaches. If I was Amad, get me on that plane Ole.

A loan move for Diallo certainly makes sense. It is a case of fining the club that will be the best at furthering his development through the right training and ample game time on the pitch.

Is also important for a player who is on the bench to be watching the game and looking for areas where they can run into and make the most impact. For example playing against a team where players switch off/ get caught out of position and timing your runs.

A move to a championship team is the best move imo. Its a physically tough league against decent opposition that should set him in good stead.

It'll make a man of him. It was good enough for another one of our best right wingers.
