Good, while individually he has his faults we keep significantly higher percentage of clean sheets with him in the team than with him out of it.

It was even suggested his absence from the Europa League final may have impacted the result.

Decent center half but not a great/ world class one, we are better with him than without with our current options. At the same time I think we could improve on him but we won't he is just bout good enough, Shappy unless I missed it I haven't seen anyone suggest what you claim but personally for me the manager was at fault for that lost.

I remember reading it in the Athletic, at the time I dismissed it. But in truth until we signed Varane Maguire was our best CB. Sure we could do better and we have in signing Varane.

But if we think about it logically of course not having your best CB in a final is going to negatively impact your chances. Maybe we wouldn't have conceded with Maguire maybe we still would have. Maybe Maguire might have made a telling difference, maybe he wouldn't.

Yet if you ask any manager what they want heading into a a final all of them will say they want their best players fit and available.
