Ed002. There are so many reports and rumours that there is some confusion amongst supporters.
From what I can make out it appears to be the following
Carrick as caretaker with fletcher having a more prominent role within the team.
The club are looking to appoint an interim manager until the end of the season.
The club will look at appoint a new permanent manager in the close season.
Is that summary correct?
If so Ed do you know who the club are considering for the interim role?
Have you any insight as to who the preferred candidate is for the permanent role is?
Poch, Ten Hagg and Rodgers have all been mentioned by you before but with the club appearing to want to wait until the summer do you see anybody else being under consideration?

{Ed002's Note - The club would rather not have an interim manager but preferred options are not available right now or not interested. The club may stick with Carrick and Fletcher if it is possible to attract someone they want. Zidane is available but seems to want the PSG or France jobs. Rodger’s may be a viable option. Pochettino perhaps in the summer. For an interim role the club should look at keeping it house if possible and riding the season out and spending the time deciding if they want to address the larger management issue or keep working through managers.}

in an ideal world, psg let poch go and they get zidane and poch takes the hot seat at OT.

we have seen what tucel did with Chelsea in such little time, a decent coach and staff will get miles more from this squad. its the best squad we have had in 8 seasons.

Seems pace is gathering for Poch coming sooner rather than later. Not sure about this one to be honest. I know it’s Sir Alex preferred choice, but there’s a reason Spurs let him go and he’s hardly setting the world on fire in Paris.

Unfortunately for me is the influence that Sir Alex seems to be having on football decisions. It seems that when he speaks, the club automatically carry out his wishes and I don’t think that’s a healthy place to be in. He was obviously behind Ronny coming back and that decision is perhaps another debate in itself. As a club they have time now to get things right.

Not just a managerial appointment, but the whole management structure and how this impinges on the short and long term. In terms of manager, personally I’d like to see us wait until summer and then make an approach for Eric Ten Hag and his complete backroom staff if this is possible.

He’s worked wonders at Ajax, his style of play is similar to where we want to be and he’s renowned for giving youth a chance and developing a clubs academy. If they can bring Edwin in as DoF then we’ve cracked it.

Hardly setting the world on fire? He’s lost 1 game all season, is well clear at the top of the league and will qualify for the knockout stage of the Champions League. What exactly were you expecting him to have done so far?

fire psg are top, walking the title and unbeaten in UCL

he did an amazing job with spurs with 0 funds for 4-5 seasons, if spurs let him spend some money to improve the squad they would have won the title in one of them seasons

he was let down by levy.

{Ed014's Note - how much had Leicester spent then, when they beat Spurs to the title?

He had a far superior squad to theirs didn’t he?

Take the comments onboard regarding his record at PSG this season. However, with Messi, Neymar and Mbappe…. would you expect anything different? At clubs like PSG, Bayern etc, it’s just a case of rinse and repeat. It doesn’t necessarily indicate a mangers prowess.

Time will tell what direction the club go in, although I think you can pretty much write this season off to be honest, unless the interim team manage to do a Di Matteo and win the Champions League.

Either way, relieving Ole of his position is a positive step, despite him having a special place in fans hearts. I’m pleased to say I don’t think that will change.

Yeah but freak seasons happen.

He did a great job at spurs. With a bit more investment they would have won a title.

I think poch would be a good decision

Ten hag won't have the right set up to succeed, ajax are built different from 1st team down to there unders.

I don't rate Pochettino. He didn't win anything at Spurs, and didn't even win Ligue 1 in his first season, given the squad he had.

Leicester also beat Pep’s city that season, it’s ridiculous to compare.
