Probably very true based on we are stupid enough to give him what no one else with.

Christ I hope not. We still rarely win when pogba and Bruno together. No matter how good he is. Luxury player and will be used as an excuse to not spend big. Ole lost the plot trying to rely on pogba and didn’t rebuild his midfield.

If he’s fit and motivated and wants to stay then I’m happy. He is talented player. The key has always been a strong CDM if we are to play Bruno and Pogba. Quite frankly what he earns, and what we are willing to pay him is none of my business and couldn’t care less. I’ll leave that to the accountants.

{Ed014's Note - I think the rest of the prem would love you to keep him Eric, I’ll be well happy if he signs a new contract. Absolute waste of a fortune in his original fee and wages.

So apparently we put a big offer on the table supposedly north of 450k per week.

It's now halfway through February and his agent has been able to talk to foreign clubs for 6-7 weeks about possibly signing him.

Maybe he realises now that he doesn't have as many options as he thought he would. Maybe there isn't a huge queue of clubs looking to pay huge wages on a player who has been very inconsistent at club level for 4 years or more and has in the past 3 years spent a lot of time out injured.

I saw the rumour the other day that he will wait to see out his contact to see which English clubs would be interested in him. If there is any truth in that then that would also suggest that maybe he doesn't have as many offers from main land Europe as he thought he would get.

Barcelona can't afford the wages. Real Madrid are looking at paying huge wages to secure Mbappe and Haaland if possible.

Bayern Munich won't have any interest in a player like Pogba.

Maybe a few Italian teams might be able to pay him higher wages due to taxes in Italy. Yet I doubt AC Milan would be prepared to pay those wages. They lost Donnarumma and will likely lose Kessie because they wouldn't pay their wage demands. So I doubt they'll pay Pogba's.

He's never been a priority for Juventus, which as a former player must sting a little.

Inter maybe, but I don't know what their plans are.

Which pretty much leaves PSG as the only club that will come close to matching his wage demands outside of England. There is talk that he might not want to move to PSG out of respect for his father who was a Marseille fan. No idea if that's true or not, but it has been said in the press.

What options does he have left? Maybe Chelsea or Man City might make him an offer, but he'll have to wait until he's out of contract to find out.

Or he signs the deal on the table at United.

I'd let him leave. He is injury prone, isn't a team player and hasn't impressed. Time to cut our losses.

Or maybe the new manager will bring DVB out of his shell a bit and play him.

My biggest fear Ed is if/ when he leaves, what the club plan to do to replace him and with who? With the right coaches in charge he surely can be an asset?

{Ed002's Note - Manchester United have a number of midfield targets as I have explained, and it is most unlikely Pogba will sign a new contract so they will soon be looking to prioritising their targets and talking with agents.}

He seems a little happier recently and I think he should still be starting in our present team when fit but it's difficult to see how or if he will fit in with whatever our side looks like over summer, as it will be transforming hugely. Other than a younger striker most of the players we have been linked with are defensive minded. The side lacks creativity and those players don't tend to grow on trees or come cheaply replacing him will take a huge wedge out of our kitty. Of course his wages will help with that.

I hope so ed. We need to move him on.

The summer should see an exodus of players giving the new manager somewhat of a clean slate. Depending on who that manager is will determine the type of player we go after.
Whilst we won't be able to address all positions in one summer I do think that some sensible buys, use of the youth players and maybe a top CM could drastically improve us.
With Pogba, Matic, Mata, lingard, Baily, Martial possibly leaving there should be no problem with wages!

From he should never have left to Juve on a free before to now let him leave on a free. for me Pogba needs better support from better team mates. a decent DM will allow his to improve. We never had one.

{Ed014's Note - just get rid he’s a show pony and nothing else

No just no, surely no one within our structure would think it a sensible idea to pay huge sums of money to him keep him.

Where else would he get 500 grand a week.
Absolutely laughable.
