Hi Ed, there is no chance Tuchel leaves his contract this summer for Manchester United right? The media is spinning this story now but… it seems highly unrealistic.

{Ed002's Note - No, Tuchel will not be joining Manchester United.}

Thanks Ed. Seemed stupid to suggest. I’m sure it’s Poch….

Don't care who it is if they have a sensible progressive plan and get individuals to run for 90 + minutes and play as a team to a predetermined pattern of play.

Tuchel would be made to leave Chelsea for us. Even Chelsea’s situation is not as desperate as our current rubbish show.

I find the whole Tuchel thing quite funny to be honest. I think he's a good manager, but not necessarily a great one. I think he has a habit of over complicating things at times.

I thought he did a decent job with a Dortmund side that was set up well and had a good group of players who just needed a little shift.

He did okay a PSG, but wasn't able to help them take the next step.

He has had a great new manager bounce with a very talented Chelsea squad. He managed to get them to win the UCL and match the achievements of Roberto Di Matteo.

Yet this season his side (which is easily the third best squad in the league) is currently third, 11 points off of top spot and only 9 points better off that ourselves after we have had an absolute disaster of a season.

He seems very much like a man who can get about par out of the players he has, but he cannot make a team better than the sum of its part. Give him the best group of players in the league and he'll probably win the league. But he won't win the league unless he has the best squad.

Is he the German Brendan Rodgers? Not a bad manager, but not one of the best?

In your opinion as per usual.

Would pep or klopp win the league without the best squad then? The answer is no they wouldn't so I don't really get your point. Pep wasn't anywhere near winning the league until he spent a lot of money and the same goes for klopp. He's a very good young manager there's no doubt about it. Di matteo has never had a top job again since he left Chelsea where as Tuchel most definitely will when he leaves. Trust me.

shappy a mate of mine can't believe all the hype of tuchel, he says the same thing that he is just the same as di mateo and that his teams always fall short.

whoever the manager is going to be it needs sorting soon.

{Ed0666's Note - Wow the privilege and entitlement dumbfounds me on this page. Do you guys realize what a precocious position you are in world football? You can’t just attract top players and coaches anymore you have to sell your project.

That’s it then we don’t want Tuchel because your mate says he is useless
Maybe Tuchel won’t even want us
Winning champs league not bad, if it’s just new manager bounce what happened to our new manager bounce then!
IMO opinion he be better then Poch or Ajax or what we currently have that’s for sure
To write him off because your mate says so is unbelievably stupid.

{Ed014's Note - I can’t say I’m that impressed, with your squad he should be right up there with City and Liverpool.

ed0006 i just laugh at him when he says it, I think he's had a bad result on a bet and it was one of tuchels teams that let him down.

yankees i'm just replying to what shappy said about him being likened to di matteo, this is not an opinion of mine btw. think you mis read what i have posted.

{Ed0666's Note - sorry if I misinterpreted your post mate it was super early in the morning and I was half asleep.

Yankees, where did I say that it was anything more than my opinion? What do you think is meant when I say "I think" or "I thought"? Of course it's an opinion, that's all you will ever read on these pages bar the few golden nuggets from the Ed's who might actually have an inside source. Whether it's me, Ken, GDS, Red Man, DodgyBanter or any other poster it will be an opinion. Don't get your knickers in a twist just because you don't agree.

Of course it's any opinion, no better or worse than any of your opinions on football managers.

I'm not saying Tuchel is a bad manager, I actually said he's a good one. I just don't see him as a world class manager on par with the likes of Klopp and Pep.

I think (that means it's an opinion) that fans tend to get excited by the next shiny toy be that the newest name manager linked to us or a new player. Then these fans get defensive if anyone says anything other than the sun shines out of X players/ managers arse.

I don't think there is an outstanding candidate and think there are flaws/ draw backs to every possible manager we could hire.

Damon, Klopp and Pep make their teams better than the sum of their parts. That is what sets them apart. City have had the best squad for the last 4 years without a shadow of a doubt, and yet Klopp won a title in that time with Liverpool. Which kind of proves that you can win a title without the best squad.

Bolger, I think Tuchel is a far better manager than Di Matteo, yet the fact remains if he leaves Chelsea tomorrow he'll have achieved no more than Di Matteo at Chelsea.

Chelsea have a very good squad, yet I think it's fair to ask whether Tuchel is getting the best out of it. Currently Chelsea are only 9 points ahead of ourselves after we have probably had our worst season in at least 6 years, maybe longer.

We have players desperate to leave, an unbalanced squad, players in terrible form, the club in disarray, no full time manager.

Yet Tuchel has the current UCL holders only 9 points ahead of us.

The fact that he has them closer to us than to the teams challenging for the title must be a concern.

His only signing is Lukaku who he has dropped and can't get a tune out of. Again something that must be a concern. Was he misguided signing Lukaku or is he just unable to get him to perform? Neither option really fills me with confidence.

Happy, you have to take into account the stupid amount of injuries we've had to key players, James and Chilwell. Defense has also suffered mightily, and at each turn Chelsea were forced to play matches even in spite of numerous C.V. cases (where others were often afforded a postponement) .

Tuchel doesn't have us playing brilliant attacking football, that's for damn sure. But I can't say he's not a world class coach. That CL run last season wasn't a new manager bounce fluke. We started off playing not so very good under Tuchel, but the team was flat out dominant in CL. Dominated both Madrid clubs and even City in the final we were the better team. Funnily enough I thought Porto was the team that gave us far and away the most troubles.

Tuchel is one of the top coaches in the world, especially tactically. He's also been surprisingly excellent with the media and his relations within the club throughout what can be described as a turbulent period for the club. He's not perfect, but he's done remarkably well during a difficult season. Once we get defenders better suited to a 4 man backline and a good attacking player (sigh, Lukaku. ) I hope he switches to a system with a bit more attacking power on the pitch. Then we can find out if the stale attacking play is really his fault or not. Right now he's a bit handicapped by the appalling form of many of our attackers.

You have to remember Shappy has no expertise no training no experience and no idea of what makes a good manager.
Before lampard was sacked shappy slated the Chelsea squad and was trying to convince me the United squad was better with better potential.
Shappy changes his mind more often than he changes his socks and while he writes things as facts they are only his opinion which carries less weight than a putin ceasefire.
