PSG comfortably losing again today. can't help but feel it will be poch next year and it will be made known sooner rather than later. If PSG aren't retaining him then they probably aren't going to make a fuss if we are talking to him.

{Ed014's Note - they want to win things Tim so they won’t mind if he goes.

They are comfortably top of the Ligue 1 table by 13 points. They are having their post UCL knockout drop in form as their superstar players sulk again despite them being the primary reason why they are out of the UCL.

It happens every year. Give them a couple of weeks and the normal service of them comfortably beating every side in the league will resume and they will likely be named champions 4-6 weeks before the end of the season. As per usual.

Pochettino is a good manager, is he a great one? Who knows.

What is obvious though is that he is a terrible fit for PSG. His side's are about hard work and working as a team. Two things this bunch of PSG players are never going to do. They won't work hard for eachother, they all want to be the star.

They need a manager who can handle the ego's and come up with a system that gets the best out of a group of players where 3 or 4 players only turn up when they feel like it, and never sacrifice themselves for the team.

All the stars are lining up for us to get potch, but not the good potch at spurs, the potch that has been damaged by dealing with the ego's at psg . So a rubbish version of him that I know for a fact will turn out to be a disaster.

There's no way imo that MP is as good as ETH.

I guess lots of people have romanticized having Poch when he was riding the hight tide at Tottenham but I really hope we go for ETH.

With ETH complaining about being a conveyor belt and having players like Tagliafico and Mazraoui all but comfirmed as leaving I hope we don't mess this up.

Imagine getting Poch with ETH moving to City next year (yes I know they have a better structure) and dominating us for another decade.

I'm not in anyway inspired by Poch.

And yet ETH could easily be the next De Boer. Has no experience managing a club like United, and let's VDS rip apart his team every year, but also gets to spend double any other team. Now he’s going to have to deal with the glazers and United structure on building a team? Yikes.

What has eth done that's better than what poch has achieved.
How is he handled the egis badly at psg?
Was tuchel not damaged by psg?
Roobest you don't know anything for a fact about next season yet.
I'm not anti anybody being our manager.
Opinions are fine but let's be honest none of us have any real expertise on most the things that are commented on.
Sure a team managed by ole beat a psg team. They are a bunch of flakes and don't play at a high enough level weekly to be used to cl pace like the Italian Spanish or English teams bayern suffer from that to a much lesser degree.
If poch is allowed see out the season he will have done what anchelotti blanc tuchel did before him. Win the league at a canter in his only full season. Had a cl semi last season only 1 manager has done better for psg.
Eth good candidate but I think has more question marks over his suitability.
Tuchel I wish.
Simeone another great candidate but has no interest.
Southgate. Not for me a very good England manager though. I think intl football suits him.
Potter. A manager with potential. But I'm sure he needs to prove himself a bit more imo.
Rodgers. A good coach but his management skills are very questionable. Very good coach imo.
Anchelotti would be a very Conservative choice but I think he is too Conservative an option for where we find ourselves now. Very good manager.
Ralph. Not a great manager and I'd rather he sticks to his area of expertise.
So outside of those I don't see too many other probabilities.
Look forward to seeing how it works out.
None of us are experts at this level all we know is what we like and what we don't like even then that changes daily for some.

Agree with all of that ken! I’m not sure whether to be excited or apprehensive about what comes next?! It’s the United board after all ?‍♂️.

Agree Ken
Poch or TH will both have question marks but both will have huge opportunity! We’re one of biggest clubs in world ( whether some of you miserable sods admit it or not ) and they can come in and grab the club by the scruff of the neck and get us going again! What an opportunity! Either one will get my full backing ( as long as they get rid of pogba ) ?.

Spot on Chris but all our posters here know better due to their years of training and exposure to high level athletes. Bleeding know all that actually know nothing except what goes on in their own heads.
Their opinions might be proven wrong or right or else they will flip flop and follow tj their emotions.

All of you asking what ETH has done should look at their teams, style of play and identity.

Even when at Tottenham, Poch was more pragmatic and tbh wasn't playing the kind of attacking play many ask for.

His style had a defensive implementation to it.

Anyone who had watched Ajax's game today would have been encouraged.

Even after getting the third goal and with the red card in the extra time Ajax was on the front foot.

The game ended with Ajax attacking Feyenord's defensive end.

Eth did not bring that identity to ajax yaz . Its been there for years they have won as many cl as united.
He Strood into a austen and had manged it really well.
He is a good manger but to date his achievements are no better than poch . I accept your opinion on who you prefer we all have our own personal favourites but it's no more than that.

I really hope whoever the next manager is, sees the players for what they do on the pitch than what country they play for, their wages or how big their head is before he starts a first XI.
Ole was an elite favorites manager, constantly playing his 12-13 cuddly players. He used to explain mediocrity with we are getting better. And had absolutely no qualms about all but ruining a lad like rashford with possibly a very bad injury and continuosly overplaying him.

With rangnick, a lot of that favortism has gone away but there are still 2-3 players who are automatic starters even though they have woeful for a while. Maguire especially is a 4 or 5 each game and yet is constantly played as CB. Bailly, Lindelof and Jones all are better than him.

13.) 20 Mar 2022
20 Mar 2022 22:21:25
Maguire is getting favoritism from all levels though…how he’s still in the England squad is beyond me!

14.) 20 Mar 2022
20 Mar 2022 22:34:50
I don't think Maguire is getting favouritism. Ok maybe he does but i mean for different reasons.
When you make such a big transfer you "marry" the player and stick with him unless he is no longer your player. Southgate rates him very highly so best we can hope is after the WC he takes the Newcastle job and make an 100 million bid for his beloved Maguire ?.

I'm not sure I have a favourite for next manager. I know who I don't want and I have clear reasons for that. For me a major part of Manchester United's identity is trust in youth and playing exciting football. Or at least that is a big part of the identity to me. As such I prefer managers who'll lean into that.

I don't want a manager who does not give youth a chance and who plays negative, defensive football.

I think most of the managers we have been linked to could do a great job if the club is set up to enable them to do so. For me the whole problem we have had over the past 9 years has stemmed from above the manager, so unless that changes then the next manager is likely to fail like that last regardless who it is. United is a massive club, with huge expectations, it's a difficult enough job if everyone is pulling in the same direction. When a manager is being undermined and having to work with one hand tied behind their back it's impossible.

Pochettino will fail if the club don't support him and enable him to manage as he sees fit.

Ten Hag will fail if the club don't support him and enable him to manage as he sees fit.

Tuchel will fail if the club don't support him and enable him to manage as he sees fit.

Pep and Klopp would fail if the club didn't support them and enable them to manage as they saw fit.

I'd be happy with any of those managers, I think they all have several really good positive attributes that make them good options to manage us. I'm not blind to their flaws though, they all have potential flaws that could derail their attempt to manage our club.

Anyone who has a preferred candidate but is unable to see or accept that managers flaws is being willfully ignorant.

21 Mar 2022 08:34:23
Surely Tuchel isn't genuinely considered a candidate?
He is one of the best managers in the world, surely the new owners will do everything in their power to convince him he is at the right club. And if not, I imagine there will be more attactive options for him.

17.) 21 Mar 2022

Shappy, one of the best things to watch in the EPL at the minute, is the link-up play between Son and Kane. I used to think he was just a typical big number 9, but he's impressed me with the way he's adapted his game, and his willingness to do so.

There are a number of people who think he’s called Ten Haag that have him as first choice to be our manager. I’ve no idea how good he would be, he could be amazing, nobody knows, it really surprises me how people want him when I’m guessing they don’t know that much about him, I assume it’s because he’s the shiny new toy.
