Looks like wan bissaka could be on his way out. Be lucky to get half what we paid for him, yet another example of p. poor buying.

And Henderson to Newcastle

Get the money in to get De Jong!

I assume this means there is definite interest in a new rightback as surely that isn't Dalot.

AWB could be a good right back for the right team with the right set up.

He really isn't suited to how EtH likes to play.

Dalot could adapt and play that style. The question is whether he has the ability to play that role to the level we need him to.

We also have players like Williams and Laird who could provide competition.

Rumours that he's looking at Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan.

After watching Williams quite a lot this season he's gone backwards.
Dumfries is an easy link to make and I'd bite Inter's hand off, he was arguably Holland's best player at the Euros.

First off Dumfries, he is Dutch then obviously we are going for him.

Not of the opinion that any of the FBs in our squad have a future at the club.

Have heard good things about the two FB in the youth team though. Hopefully in a few years both make it to the first team.

Hi Ed, is there any chance Denzel Dumfries could be of interest to Utd and would Inter be open to a sale? Lazy Dutch connections aside, he's always looked ace for Holland.

{Ed002's Note - Denzel Dumfries (RB) A potential Emerson Royal replacement for Spurs. Bayern Munich also have a declared interest but I cannot see the player being interested in being cover only. Inter will not want to sell and want to hang on to their younger players. I am not aware of any approach from Manchester United.}

Behave shappy, Dalot is not the long term answer! I can think of a dozen right backs in the league better than him easily!

Chris, he probably isn't, yet the reality is that at every club there are players who don't seem good enough under one manager then they step up and become a key player under the next manager.

Dalot was one of the best full back prospects when signed. He did very well on loan at AC Milan.

He has been given a dozen or so games under a temporary manager after most of the squad had clocked off and the team was playing the poorest football of the last 30 years.

It's a bit hard to judge him based on that to be honest.

AWB does not have the ability that EtH needs from his FB so this looks the logical solution whether that is on loan next year or sale. Dalot I think will be given the chance with one of the youth players alongside potentially a new transfer coming in. I doubt we will look to spend note than £15m so likely to look at the European leagues or championship for an up and coming player.
Dalot could be a fall in the second evolution of the team but does deserve a chance.

Awb is poor he got away with it for far to long because he could make that tackle, which he has now lost.

He can't pass, can't control a ball, can't cross and his best attribute he's lost.

Dalot under a proper coach will shine, you can see he has the potential.

But saying that he is poor defensivly, always asleep at the back post, switches off in games, maybe ten hag can work on this and maybe with a cb who speaks and organises he might improve, but for me we need a rb to compete with dalot unless williams is going to be that man.

We let AWB down.

He came into the team with a big reputation following his fantastic performances for Palace.

Landed in with Ole and Crew, in a completely mess of a system and was not properly coached. His progress stagnated and now we are left with a player who never knew if he was coming or going.

Best of luck to him, I hope he gets a decent opportunity somewhere else.

Not many players get past AWB. His failure was not being coached properly so that his attacking skills developed. I would keep him for at least one more season and see if he could improve in this area. It didn't hell him that he never played in a settled competent back four.

angelred players need to take a bit of responsibility. It’s not Ole or any other coaches fault he can’t overlap or cross a ball. His tackling is impeccable, going forward he’s poor.

20 May 2022 20:14:23
Dalot can’t defend can’t attack! Sell him and move on!

20 May 2022 20:49:28
I think Bolger hits the nail on the head with needing a leader and organiser at the back.

AWB is a failure of the coaching system in one aspect but also the scouting system.

I don't know if he himself is partly responsible. Maybe he has tried to get better going forward, but considering he was a converted winger I have no idea what he was doing playing on the wing cause he has showed nothing that makes me think he could do anything there.

19.) 21 May 2022
21 May 2022 00:08:06
I don’t think AWB was a bad buy.

He hasn’t worked out, but at the time it made sense. He was young, with decent pace and physicality, and an excellent tackle. It looked like he might become an excellent full back.

Sometimes young players don’t work out, and he was one of them. I do think the coaching hasn’t done him any favours, but it’s impossible to say how much of it is that, and how much is him.

20.) 21 May 2022
21 May 2022 12:15:33
Dalot is not the answer either and it seems like Utd could get a few quid for him so they should take that opportunity.

This whole squad needs cleaning out. About 20 players should be shown the door.

Zeki Celik an option at RB?
