Hi Ed002,

Sorry to bother you but any truth in rumours that United are interested n Christian Eriksen?

If so, compete with Bruno Fernandes for a spit maybe?

Thanks as always!

{Ed002's Note - I very much doubt it. There have been talks with two other clubs.}

I’ve said all summer this signing would be a no brainier for me.

Outstanding quality on the ball, set piece delivery and a midfield three of (FDJ? ), Eriksen and Bruno against the bottom half sides where we struggle to break down deep defenses would be excellent. Plus he’s FREE. An absolutely essential signing in my opinion.

Couldn't agree more Downsie. Fits in perfectly with a point I made yesterday that we should target an experienced player or 2 due to the amount of experience we are losing this summer.

He excelled under Poch and came through at Ajax so he not only has the ability on the ball to succeed at United but the temperament and background to be a good fit as well.

He is schooled in the Ajax system although not under Ten Hag.

I think i mentioned somethingvlike this before the first time it was mentioned, but his presence in the dressing room may be humbling for some of the divas.

I would imagine his presence in any dressing room would be a very positive thing.

Finally he is one player I think that any fan anywhere only wants to see positive things for, even playing against us I hope he has a good game!

Good player. Could do a job for us. But cannot and never was able to step it up to the next level required of a proper Man Utd player (I don’t class many if any of our current squad of that either) .

Good player capable of great moments. I think after everything he has gone through over the past 12 months, nearly losing his life, the thought that he'd have to retire and never play football again.

I don't think you come back from that to accept anything other than first team football. I'd imagine he'll want to play as much and as often as he can.

I think given that we have Bruno, Donny and Hannibal all capable of playing in Eriksen's best position, he would be a squad player adding depth and experience.

I doubt that is a role he will be happy with as a 30 year old who nearly lost everything in the past year.

I wish him the very best, I hope he finds a club where he is happy and he gets to play many more games.
