Ed 002 interesting reply down below on the French rb Clauss.
Outside the elite players or obvious starters. Do the players look for assured game time in order to sign?
Would a player like clauss looking at coming to united not look at who's here and back himself to compete and win the position?
I'm sure there are some players who sign well aware they will be cover but I'm not sure there is a clear starter at rb at united.

If there is one Lens player we are going for it should be Seko Fofana. Underrated and a few of the bigger sides across Europe could do far worse than him.

Clauss came out of nowhere, next day he is signing for Marseille. We do get linked to so many players that in reality are non starters.
