Hi Ed002,

Do you know if the United hierarchy are losing confidence in Ten Hag please and if they’re thinking of replacing him soon?

Results are pretty poor and there seem to be questions about how well he is implementing a more possession based style of play, his team selections and his substitutions- plus other issues such as communicating his ideas.

The next International break might seem an opportune moment to make a change perhaps?

Many thanks for an information you feel able to reveal about ETH’s current position.

{Ed002's Note - He should have been replaced in the summer. The board will have serious concerns now and no doubt options will be considered and Ashworth will be a key part of the decision process.}

Ed002

Thank you and agree. May I ask if Eddie Howe would be considered given the Ashworth connection?

{Ed002's Note - There would be plenty ahead of him.}

Hi Ed, Is it true Ole was asked if He'd accept to return to Utd as manager?

{Ed002's Note - By a journalist - not the club.}

What are the options now in order of preference?

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing to discuss now.}

I imagine it will cost a pretty penny to remove him this year?

Hopefully not, Spenno. Given that the only reason they didn’t get rid of him in the summer was because they couldn’t get the person they wanted in to replace him, you’d like to think they’d have put a lower severance payout in his new contract. At the very least, it shouldn’t have gone up.

He didn't get a new contract.

The next few games could be key for EtH to show that there is significant improvement and to get us up the table a bit. Unfortunately they are not easy games with Spurs and Villa with Porto inbetween in the Europa.
There will be many more metrics other than wins that they will be looking at but it will not have been lost on them that the fans at the FC Twente game seemed to be turning a bit. That can be overcome with a few good results but if the board are not 100% convinced then they may start looking at options again.
Lets remember that there are some managers available that if you believe the noise in the summer the board were keen on (Tuchel, Southgate - please no! )

After the break there is a run where we will be favourites so if he can ride out this period he could get a breather assuming we pick up points.

Just go all out and get Arteta.

You do know that Arteta is an Arsenal fan, burnleyred? You really think he'll throw away what he's up to for a year as a well paid scapegoat for the shambles at your club?

Ten Hag might be rubbish, but he has still won more than Arteta SW.
Five years £700m and one FA Cup, shocker.

3 years 700m, 1 beat city cup (yehhh) 1 league cup an 8th place finish ?‍♂️ shocker.

I’d take OGS back over ten Hag any day of the week.

True, Grim, he did win the league cup. Better then to leave Arteta alone and give Ten Hag a new contract, serial winner that he has proven himself to be (;

Arteta lost his first 3 league games in his third year and had managed 4 points from first 5 games.

Arsenal fans were calling for his head and the whole stadium was booing. people have short memories and revisionist.

The spend amount that keeps getting quoted is just lazy stuff go to Transfermarkt and add 3 numbers, can't be that difficult.

If beating city was a yeaah why has no one else done it the England since Guardiola has been here yeaah.

Enough is enough. Get rid of Ten Haag and bring Ole back until the end of the season.

Ole is nowhere near good enough. People have short memories.

No idea why Ole is getting mentioned, a journo asks Ole a question, Ole answers and now its bandied about as a credible alternative.

I cannot believe for one minute Sir Jim would even have thought about it, I am sure he and his team have ideas of who they want, OGS won't even be discussed and mentioned as an option.

At least Ole tried to play entertaining football and got on well with the squad. He also had a good record against the big six, save for that 5-0 thumping at home against the scousers.

He probably isn’t the man for the job in the long-term (although let’s remember that he too had to deal with all of the same issues that the Ten Haag apologists are constantly bleating on about), but between him and Van Nistelrooy, I do think he could steady the ship between now and the end of the season.

The alternative seems to be rushing out and signing Southgate to a long-term deal, which I don’t think any of us want. Ole until the end of the season will give the new management structure time to scout and secure the right manager, which we haven’t had since SAF left.
