That's why I have wanted to see the Smalling/Vidic partnership. I'm glad Moyes has finally seen sense.

1.1 is a very good result away in Ukraine and I think we are in good shape in this group. Well done lads.

Syd

smalling for me is positionally not great ad always the risk of making a blunder. I prefer Jones there. Smalling needs another 2 years if he can stay injury free and develop.

I'm not convinced by Smalling. He hasn't improved enough since he signed for United. But I agree that we are in good shape in this group Sydney.

Shaz, Jones isn't positionally great neither and too similar to Vidic, they would go for the same balls. Smalling is just beginning to find his feet, a month from now he could be back to his best.

Sydney dear chap, i'm afraid you really are missing the point. All the other groups in CL have a CLEAR leader with 6 points. Unfortunately, United are now sharing the top of their group with Shakyar on only 4 pointsc closely followed by Bayer Leverkuson on 3 points. United have missed an opportunity to take a clear lead, and to be fair the goal they scored was very scrappy, a throw in they shouldn't have had, followed by a defender slipping. Wellbeck took his goal well though, he is a good prospect. The worrying thing must surely be that in the second half, United had virtually no attacks on their goal.
Im not surprised though, because this is exactly what Moyes does. He bottles it every time. He did exactly the same with Liverpool when we played Everton in the FA Cup semi two seasons ago. United are certainly not the force they were, maybe its about time Sydney recognises it?
