I'm not defending Young in anyway but players dive in almost every game I watch. Ramirez was disgraceful today and he got his team a pt that they didn't deserve. Neymar dove vs Milan in the Champions League and got a pk for Barca. It seems to me that Young is getting more stick than others but he's in no way the only one. Until the refs hand out stiffer punishment players will continue to do it.

Your point is valid flint. Bale dived so many times last season and even got booked on a few occasions. Latest can be seen when Ronaldo's theatrics got Gheilini a red card. But all these players give so much more to the team that even if the diving part comes in the news it is overshadowed by their performances. Now in Young's case the only stand out point in his whole performance was the dive. He did nothing else. And please don't tell about his 1 supercross in the game which mistakenly found RVP. You expect much more from players at this level. Even I could put in atleast 5 decent crosses per match which our wingers can't do right now. Well I don't want to change the subject to how bad our wingers are, its already been done to death.

@raph

I'm sorry, so what you're saying is if a player is talented and contributes to the team he should be excuse? The players ability has absolutley nothing to do with the issue at hand. If a player dives he's conned the ref regardless of who he is.

I personally think the same focus should be on defenders you deliberatley foul attacking players in the box at corners and set pieces and get away with. Have theynot conned the ref also?

'RebelRed'

I get what 'raph' is saying. You wouldn't want Ronaldo out of the club because he dives at times, he is too special a player to let go. As for Young, he is not special, he offers nothing and is therefore more criticised.

No no rebelred you got me wrong. I'm just stating my point as to why I think Young is being slated more by the media. Every so called pundit now has an opinion about young. Everyday we are reading how another football expert presents his views about how dreadful Young is. Same thing happened last season with Bale but after sometime everyone stoppedand and were just praising his performances. Ronaldo was slated for a week but then he went o. and scored another hattrick and everyone again started debating as to who is better Messi or Ronaldo. I'm not supporting anyone, I'm just expressing why I think the media isn't moving on and are slating Young continuously.

RebelRed, it's not that a talented player should be excused, but he has more to his arsenal in order for the media to see.

Same goes with players who do not work hard defensively. Messi and Ronaldo are not the hardest working players out there but they are just so magnificent going forward that they are excused.

Berbatov on the other hand, while a tremendously talented player, is not as good therefore his defensive shortcomings are more critisized

Point taken guys, I didn't what Raph had written properly. And I agree that players performances can overshadow an incident.

I guess that makes Young a scapegoat due to his lack of ability.

Wrong either way.

I've seen Gerrard almost end careers with his two footed tackles over the top and not half the uproar.
