This video analyses Kagawa's performance vs. Olympiakos. Over and over again he goes into spaces and looks for the ball, yet his team mates ignore him. Very interesting short video which just highlights how are style of play won't suit players like Kagawa/Mata.
Its a shame when you see player like Young who constantly play but can't pick a simple 10 yard pass because they choose not to look up.

What a waste of an incredible footballing brain that is being allowed to rot on the bench. And to think that it's available to us without even having to dip into transfer funds!

Thats why I think even if he's given £200m to spend, he'd buy talented players but still play them poorly. Bad players can play poorly too and won't cost 100s of millions

Indeed. You mentioned "footballing" and our manager does not understand what that means!
