Just had a chance to read the statement moyes released. Although he just couldn't make it work at united I've got a lot of respect for how he has conducted himself throughout and even with a dismissal as poor as his has been he can still only be positive about it and lays no blame on anyone and thanked all the people he worked with.

I really hope he can succeed with another team and I wish him good luck

Moyes has always been a gentlemen - with every interview and press conference that I've listened too - it shows the type of character he is with this statement.

He could have easily came out all guns balzing critising everybody at the club but he has kept his class and dignity.

He is a good man and a good manager unfortunalty 'good' isn't enough for a club like united - one thing that did strike me was the lack of address to the players in the statement - maybe the players were never behind him from the get go and found it difficult to win them over - if this was the case then Keano is right in saying' they should be ashamed of themselves'

"lays no blame on anyone and thanked all the people he worked with"

Didn't notice any thanks for the players. many of them should be hanging their heads in shame. a lot acted like spoilt kids for his reign.get rid of a few of them as well, we know who they are.

I was going to write something very similar myself I have a lot of respect for moyes with the way he has handled this whole thing while I agree that he had to be sacked it is embarassing how the club have behaved and handled the situation and hearing all the stories now coming out about how the players behaved he never stood a chance I just hope whoever comes in next boots these players out irrespective of who they are before we turn into chelsea it shouldn't of mattered who the manager was the players should of given their all and I hope by a few of them getting shipped out by the new manager the others will think twice before ever trying something like this again. Once again thankyou for your effort David Moyes you are a bigger man then me because I would of named and shamed every player that tried throwing a spanner in the works.

Moyes is a good man and a good manager but he was just over his head at United. There is no easy way to fire someone, it's a nasty thing to have to do.

Red79, best post I have read on here for a while. Cheers!

Maybe we should all thank him for spending 27.5mill on a useless lump

Red79, what are all these stories coming out about how the players behaved? And who is it that's coming out with it?

Evening guys/girls.

Haven't posted for ages, but enjoyed the site none the less. I find it amusing how Fellaini gets so much stick on this site from the same people that were demanding we go out and sign him at the start of the 12/13 season when he had a blinder against us for Everton!

Thanks for all the hard work eds, especially Ed002 whom has kept me amused this past few days!

Steve

Steve, to be fair myself, Red Man, Pardoe and one or two others said before he was even linked to MU that he wasn't a good fit. So far that has been proven to be correct. £27.5m for Fellaini was an obscene amount of money for him. That being said, he still has time to prove us all wrong, but I won't hold my breath.
