Well, yesterday was an awful day for us, but it ended promisingly with the news that Benatia was seemingly set to join according to Sky Sports. Now, this morning Bayern are closest. Why are we so inept, it is incredibly depressing and makes you feel very negative when we never get any of our targets when there is some form of competition. If we don't sign a world class center half and a world class central midfielder we will not make top 4 - even in signing those two, we still need more pace in the attack as it is currently very simple to defend against.

Depressed.

Maybe SSN were completely wrong yesterday and getting well ahead of themselves and all MU were/are actually doing is talking at this stage. Just like Chelsea & BM have been talking. There's clearly an interest after missing out on Hummels, but we may need to move onto someone else again soon. Can anyone think of anyone? Perhaps it will be Blind and Rojo with Hummels being looked at again next summer?

No point in being deprrssed Fresh, I am sure negotiations have been going on for months with players, I have a feeling Vidal is sealed, blind as we were told and Rojo .

I just hope we get these on time and a pacy winger.

You need a reality check. What the hell is a world class defender and midfielder?

United want to sign players. United have no issue in spending this summer which is made clear by the two big amount signings. Why should United sign someone for the sake of signing and overpay? If we are negotiating for players, which we are as Ed002 has pointed out, then United should and must drive a hard bargain.

We have a bucket load of injuries to the first team and the players just seem down on confidence at the moment. Add to that the fact that out of some of the big signings of late, one is injured and the other doesn't suit the new managers system. So it is completely understandable as to why the Board is circumspect on buying for the sake of buying.

100+ million spent on 4 players, a new manager, a new system, players (especially the ones from the SAF regime) under performing and just seem out of it, also a huge list of fringe players like Zaha, Nani, Anderson, Cleverly who no one wants to buy. We have to sell too.

I understand that signings are needed. Its obvious that defence and midfield seem bare at the moment. But that doesn't mean we go out and overspend on the first player due to a knee jerk reaction. Moreover, how is it United's fault if Bayern are interested in the player too? What if the players wants to go there even though we have a matching bid? Still blame the board? One reporter says we want Benatia, an other one says we are interested and the player isn't on his way to manchester yet. The next day a german paper reports Bayern want him. All this concludes that the Board is at fault? How and why?

United wanted Shaw, we went out there and bought him for a large sum which United thought was acceptable, whereas Chelsea thought was above the value of the player.

We lost one game, not due to lack of signings, but due to injuries and the fact that some players just aren't arsed enough to trust the new system when under pressure. We can't blame the board for everything. They have done their job over the last two windows. Moyes refused SAF's targets and wanted players who were unavailable. January window, he got what he wanted.

Ed002 has made it abundantly clear that we are in the market and will be busy these two weeks. Rojo/Blind will be sufficient cover if we avoid injuries. Remember it was evans more than Vidic or Ferdinand who was a mainstay when we won the title as the two were injured more often than not. Carrick returning would be a bonus as fletcher cannot play for a full 90 minutes.

Look at it from the Boards point of view. You think they don't want United to return to the Top? They will do everything in their power as long it doesn't affect the Club financially and is on par with the long term future of the club.
