I'm normally classed as Mr. Negative but no way should we be down about this news. Otamendi & Pedro have both been around for ages and have not done much personally. We need players that desperately want to play for the club, players like ADM are not right for the manager or our club, first sign of trouble they will be looking for a new deal elsewhere and I sense that about Pedro in particular.

For Chelsea & City to be the ones they are going to tells me all I need to know about their character. Salah/Cuadrado/Moses - add Pedro to that list.

Otamendi - looks good, but hardly setting the world alight and for that money no way is he worth it! We have plenty of cover at the back (especially as Blind & Carrick can play there) and with our defensive midfielders being elite at that role we are sorted defensively imo. Yes we need a winger, but Pedro isn't world class, rather be going for Robben or Muller.

Pedro wouldn't lift us to that next level, our next signings need to do that otherwise we are stuck with more squad players. No CB's of that level or Wingers available then wait, maybe we get a surprise deal done. I don't think there is a master plan here, but not buying squad players or overvalued mercenaries that will be a nightmare to shift on when they realise that Utd is more hard work than Barcelona, then I'm happy with that.

Forgot to add (only saying because one or two didn't think LVG would be this fickle when I posted)- I said last Friday if Januzaj does well against Villa we won't sign Pedro. It isn't a good plan if it can't be changed, but I do think we are winging it a bit.

I would not be disappointed if we do not make any signings now. LVG has trust in the players what more should we need? Though Wayne needs to be firing on all cylinders very soon.

I am very happy and excited by the performances of our young players, Memphis, Adnan and Shaw.

I think we need to trust the manager, Utd always had this arrogance to get players they want, but they also see if the player is really interested in playing for the club and not a mercenary who is looking at United with one eye and had the other one on other clubs.

Amazing what a good win does for you Beast, I agree with you, and the people saying 'don't be surprised if we don't bring anybody else in', I will be surprised if I want to be, you have no more knowledge than I do of the situation and I think we will bring 2 more players in at least.

I agree with most of it. The only thing puzzling for me is why we allow the media build up on this for weeks. It really does not mater in the grand scheme of things as either he has a plan for something else or if this guy turns out to be great he probably is looking for a new job. Big boys are big money and he is one trusted with those decisions.

Our net spend i read somewhere today is 19.8 million so far this summer there is a war chest there to be put into play if needed.
