Apparently Reus was our big name target, he liked the personal terms and was receptive to the move. Clubs couldn't agree on a price.

Now looking at Griezmann and all other targets we have heard about already.

{Ed002's Note - Someone has been teasing you.}

Go on ed put us all out of our misery and tell us who we are in for :)

{Ed002's Note - Manchester United are looking to pay well over the odds for Martial. That should keep you happy.

Why though Ed? Why are we willing to pay well over the odds? Something doesn't add up here at all.

{Ed002's Note - That I cannot answer - these were the last words I wrote on Marshall about three weeks ago:

Monaco are willing to sell Anthony Martial but are looking for a sizeable fee as 25% of the total will go to Lyon. This price has scared off Lille who enquired after the player in June. Spurs and Dortmund had the player watched last season and may turn to him if other targets are not viable - but agfain price will be an issue. He was discussed between Monaco and Chelsea when loan players were being negotiated and Chelsea would have been willing to pay €20M - but the asking price was an astonishing €50M - there was no way Chelsea would pay that for him. Manchester United spoke with his agent - whether or not they progress it I don't know, but not good value at the asking price.}

Wouldn't be surprised if someone had been having me on, but what's a deadline day without some good gossip and hope eh?

I take it we were never in at all for Reus?

These numbers are insane. This young lad better be as good as Hazard.

Cheers ed. Yeah they paid well over the odds, smells of desperation. But not my money so I just hope he turns out to be a decent player regardless of what was paid.
