Personally I would get a cb right sided forward and at a push a striker with a max of 3 leaving don't think we have a bad squad at all.

I agree Ronnie we do need those positions strengthening and maybe even GK, maybe someone like Joao Mario and Zlatan are more likely/ attainable than Pogba or Morata but also agree with Tony bout too much too soon, maybe Jose can gel 6 players if anyone can but logic says add a few in the summer, 1 in Jan then complete next summer ready for season 2.

What's Darmian done so wrong in his first season in England? Thought he was pretty solid, can play anywhere across the back, and he's got a good attitude. Ronnie, you do know there's 25 in the squad, and they can't all be world class?

Sounds expensive but sounds good ronnie! We need rid Rojo, Young, Schweinstiger, Mata, Felllaini and Valencia! To start with! Few £ returned and a lot of cash off the wage bill! I am no accountant lol as a lot people has problems with the (cash flow/ not care about cash flow) delemma on here; but it can't all be one way! :)

Didn't Jose make more than 5 changes when he took over at Chelsea. I think it was 7 changes to the first team.
Paulo Ferreira, Peter Cech, Arjen Robben, mateja kezman, didier drogba, Tiago, Ricardo carvalho from memory.

He seems to be able to build a team very quickly and get them to buy into his approach. I know he has a reputation for being negative, but I don't think this is strictly true. Chelsea have knocked 4 goals past several teams under his tutelage.

He would not have been my first choice, but I believe we will see more entertaining football under him than we have seen over the last 4-5 seasons. Let's be honest some, of the football in fergies last years was far from scintillating.

You can see the impact that one truly world class forward can have on the EPL by looking at Lpool with Suarez.
I don't think we necessarily need to go down that route though as Martial could be on his way to that level in a couple of yrs and Zlatan if he comes in may be close enough to fill that gap until then.

I'd love to see Kroos come in and maybe sit with Morgan in CM with Rooney on a bit further forward.

Definitely need a centre back and Varane would be great (still not at all convinced on Stones) .

Its all about the spine of the team, needs to be solid, experienced and hopefully injury free, get that sorted with a distributer like Kroos in there and the wingers we already have will begin to look a lot more effective.

AJH the link below lists Chelsea's signings in the Roman era and gives some insight into what Jose added to a "battle for 4th" squad, with a title challenging budget. I don't think he'll be afraid to bring in 5 or 6 if he feels it's needed.

I'd go for 4 this year and 3 or 4 next year. I also don't buy into this "transition" concept as anything other than an excuse for not progressing, or worse still regressing.

Will be interesting to see what he does with the most/ least popular players on here - quite a few must be nervous about their futures. Well, as nervous as people on silly money get about their futures!
