Morata doesn't have a release clause, he has a buy back clause. Which is why it only applies to Real Madrid.

But my limited understanding of it was that he would still havebto agree to it. If he refused to go back to Real Madrid then there is little they can do.

The theory is that Real Madrid only want to buy him back to sell him on again at a profit. They can buy him back for €35m then sell him on for close to double that. Which helps them with FFP.

Either way I think he is a decent player with great potential but I don't think he is worth chasing. He is 3-4 years away from his peak and from realising that potential. We have both Rashford and Martial in the same boat. We need someone who can do it now, not 3 years time.

If we are going to spend 60m on someone like Morata, then I would rather add another 20 and buy Harry Kane
Or someone who has proved he can do it week in week out.

Have you seen his goal record?

£80m for Kane? What has happened to football.

An absolute shedload of money has been poured into it, but the number of genuinely good players has stayed the same - that's what's happened to football.
