Looking a lot sharper than the first half of the last game. Lingard has impressed me with his movement (he looks leaner and quicker than I remember) . The obvious issue we have is that Ibra and Rooney both like to drop deep, they need to communicate more with one another but there are promising signs of good link play between them.

Great to have Shaw back. Impressed how we have dominated the game, but we still look like an accident waiting to happen at the back. Looking good if not too threatening.

WTF - Rooney being subbed. I am by no means his biggest fan but on his testimonial seems a bit weird, especially on 52mins. But at the same time I admire the professionalism of Rooney and Mourinho here - preparation over political correctness is refreshing.

A fair summary beast, although I think with Smalling back to forge a partnership with bailly all will be ok.

They would have spoken about it before the game and during half time, it was his testimonial but why risk injuring him when the season starts very soon?
