Slow, predictable, created little or nothing and ended up lumping it to Smalling .
Hard to pick out one player who did themselves any favours tonight
At least it's only the Europa League.

You say that it's only the Europa league; but if we can't put up a fight against Europa League opposition what chance do we have if/ when we make it back into the Champions League?

It was a strange performance. With the exception of Depay and Rojo (and maybe Mata) I'm not sure that any player had a bad game (in fact I though Darmian, Bailey, Smalling, Ander and Morgan were very good) and yet it was an utterly poor team performance. It felt like many players were operating on different wavelengths.

The team needs to be able to transition from defense to attack much quicker and will not do so as long as we keep playing the ball to feet rather than into space. It's all well and good inviting pressure in an attempt to catch the opposition on the break; but if it takes 10-20 touches to get the ball into the final third I don't see the point as it gives the opposition all the time in the world to get back.

Pogba seems to be the only central player we have that is willing to play the ball forwards quickly but I don't think his position is defined clearly enough for him to be effective. He was all over the place at the weekend and drifted out to the left a lot tonight. Having Morgan around certainly gave him a bit more license to move forward without leaving us too exposed though.

In all honesty though I'm at a bit of a loss as to what our best eleven is at the moment and I think that may be part of Jose's problem too. Pogba, Zlatan, DDG, Bailey and Shaw pick themselves - but at this point the other six spots are anybodies guess - and until we have an idea of what our starting 11 is going to look like it will be difficult for Jose to come up with a playing style to suit them.

if were going to play like that we might as well play the kids they couldn't do any worse. deghea had 1 save to make other than the goal be interesting sunday very tricky game against a confident team lose that and the papers will be in meltdown. fosu mensa must have looked a rojos performance tonight and wondererd what he needs to do to get playing time rojo was absolute pants. midfield way too slow no support for rashford a bad night at the office.
