I really like Morata and personally I think his skillset suits what Jose generally wants from his strikers far more than Lukaku's does.
Both have potential question marks over them. Both need to show the ability to step up and be the main man at a top club.

As for who got the best deal, well we will have to wait and see on that one.

We needed a proven goal scorer as we cpuldnt score enough which ultimatly cost us a lot of points.

Lukaku has been banging in goals for 3 seasons at Everton consistently in the prem.


Morata may be good or he may be a flop. That's the risk we were not willing to take for the price that was asked.


At this moment in time lukaku was the better choice.

even at juve morata didn't get a massive amount of goals when he was playing every week, just hope he doesn't adapt really well and get more than lukaku this season that would be a nightmare.

I think Lukaku is the striker who will allow us to challenge for the Premier League by killing off the easier teams. I do have concerns however whether he has the technical ability to carry us anywhere in Europe and think Morata would have been the better option on that front. I think the league should be the priority realistically to build from and hopefully Griezmann can come in and bring in the creativity needed to push for the Champion's League.

So far in their careers Morata has shown himself to be a better all around player than Lukaku but Lukaku is far superior when it comes to goalscoring season in season out.

Morata will suit Chelsea well as he can play a similar way to Diego Costa. While he is probably less likely to pop up with a goal than Costa his link up play and technical ability are fantastic and he occupies defenders which gives others space.

It'll be interesting to see if Morata can adapt to being the number 1 striker at a club as he hasn't been that so far in his career. Being the top striker at a club means you are judged on more than hold up play and technical ability as you have to score goals to be seen as success in many people's eyes.
