Hi ed002 if you're around I was wondering if you could answer this question?
There is a report going round in one of the papers (which normally I would take with a pinch of salt) that appeared quite interesting. The report stated that a Chinese investor has bought up 8% of shares recently made available. I was insterested by this as I think you said a season or two ago the glazers would have sold us with a Chinese consortium or group looking to buy us (around 2017 I think was what you said back then) . Could this be the beginning of the glazers selling? Or is this all rubbish and nothing has changed. Sorry if this may have been covered.
Caolán.

{Ed002's Note - The value of the GBP against the US$ pretty much kills any chance to sell this year.}

I've heard a rumour that Amazon are interested. Makes sense when you consider they have a streaming tv platform.

{Ed002's Note - They cannot stream the games.}

Ed2 when the glazer's do decide to sell do you think there will be many interested parties.

{Ed002's Note - These are my notes from 18 months ago:

"Nothing changes in terms of an exit strategy although they have, under some pressure from The AP, said that they have no plans to release control in 2017.

Someone will be doing the sums on a regular basis though and will be aware that any flotation will need to be strategically managed by location and any move back toward difficult financial times. The oil sector is going to be struggling for a few years - we already know that. Is there going to be a global financial down turn? How will the world react to having Ex Mr President Clinton as First Lady? Is it viable for the Glazers to sell a percentage of the business? Could they sell the entire business to Far Eastern institutional investors? What input do Robert Leitão and Manu Sawhney have? Hedging their bets for the future would ESPN be interested in buying a club to leverage future benefits from a pan-European breakaway league?

Or am I just teasing you?"

I general terms not too much has changed there. The value of the club is such that selling to an individual or a consortium in unlikely which means the options are (a) Institutional buyers, (b) Some fund based investment group from the Far East, or (c) a floatation on a stock exchange - probably in the Far East.}

I AM KLOOT could afford to buy us after selling all those green and gold scarfs!

Anyways, we get a consortium going. I'm in for £14!
