It looks like I am in the minority in regretting the signing of libra. Legend or not he is not very mobile and whilst he scored a lot of goals last year he slowed our play, we have seen already how quickly we can break and counter attack this year, it may be early but we look much more exciting with Lukaku in the team.

Who knows how he will be deployed but his ego is (rightly) huge and I can't see him being prepared to play a supporting role, this feels like a backward step to me.

I agree tbh, and can't believe I'm saying it but agree with Merse. We are playing with pace and power at times, we look much better as a team and I fear with zlatan we will revert back to last years slow play. If zlatan is a sporadic player yes I can see why he's good to have around but not a starter week in and week out, one thought I do have tho, RedRom must've known when he signed zlatan may well be back so unless Jose plays 2 up top which he never had to my recollection then maybe zlatan will be just that, an impact player, my other thought says tho zlatan will not be happy unless he plays. So I dunno, will see how it pans out.

You're not the only one Ajh. I don't understand the signing either. I would much rather we signed a goal scoring winger like Sanchez.
Zlatan will score goals but the team will have to play diffently to adapt and we don't want to to back to being slow and boring again.

Look a better team with out him imo .

Will have to see how it works out but I hope it doesn't upset the apple cart.

Your all assuming that ibra will come in a replace Lukaku I highly doubt that will happen and what if we went 3-5-2 ibra and Lukaku would compliment each other very well imo.

Personally I can't see zlatan being first choice. Lukaku gas shown that we are a much better side with him, and look more like a 'mourinho' side.

However I would much rather have zlatan come on for the last 20 than fellaini. Both offer similar attributes but zlatan puts it in the net. I also think his role in the dressing room will be important thus year.

Is re-signing Ibra really that bad? The impression he has made on the dressing room is evident, I suggested a while back that re-signing him on deal similar to that Owen was given would be a great move. We are playing in 4 competitions this year and I do not believe he will be first choice in either the Prem or CL this year. However, he is a great player to bring on and to have him around the club again for a further 12 months to help build the confidence further is a fantastic prospect. Having another world class, experienced player around the team for a while longer is only a great thing in my eyes.

Playing Lukaku and Zlatan together will be depremental to the side too. So Zlatan would play number 10, where does thsn leave Miki? Mkhitarian needs to play centrally, all season, and if he doesn't he'll hit big number off assists and gas. Zlatans a lot signing.

Never hurts to have extra attacking options.
Jose is man enough to drop ibra if he wants.

What i would do though is always play ibra in a 2 uptop when he plays. We can still play quick football with ibra but he needs a fast player along side for not only a quick pass but for that player to play on the defenders shoulder so
To stretch the game giving everyone more space.

I can't see us effectively playing 352 if we don't sign a wide player, ala our chase of Perisic, see what your saying Dave, a big and winning personality about the place but kinda agree with jred too, we look better now than with ibra last year and I don't want that to be upset, saying that maybe by zlatan is fit we could be in a diff place and can't have enough talent around, aye support whoever plays ken.
